After a fascinating weekend in Erbil, Iraq and Riga, Latvia last weekend, I did not think this weekend could top it–but so far it has, by leaps and bounds. I am in Jordan for the weekend with a colleague from the office and we spent the day in Petra today.
All I can say is WOW. It was so much more impressive than I thought it would be. Words cannot do justice to the architecture and natural beauty I took in–as I hope my pictures will demonstrate next week.
I have been on what you might label a “travel high” lately–I’ve been taking leisure trips to exotic locations every weekend and will continue to do so through Christmas. Traveling around Europe, Northern Africa, and the Middle East has caused me to re-evaluate the way I spend miles–I will have some thoughts on that next week as well.
For now, I am going to enjoy my evening at the LeMéridien in Amman and will check back in tomorrow.
