Update: This deal has expired.
If you’re new to the world of miles and points, let me introduce you to a credit card that is essential for your wallet. You may have heard about the current 80K point Chase Sapphire Preferred sign-up bonus. It’s not just hype. This is a deal you absolutely want to take advantage of if you are eligible.
Chase Sapphire Preferred Card Benefits
I’ve had this card in my wallet since 2009, the year the card launched. For the $95/year annual fee, it represents one of the best all-around travel credit cards, with benefits including:
- 5x Ultimate Rewards points on travel booked via Chase travel portal
- 3x points on dining
- 3x points on streaming services + online grocery store purchases
- Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs excluded
- 2x points on other travel purchases
- 1 point per $1 on all other purchases
- Travel interruption/delay coverage
- Car rental coverage
- No foreign transaction fees
- $50 in annual hotel credit
- 25% bonus on Ultimate Rewards redemptions (points are worth 1.25 cents)
That alone is enough to sign-up for this card, but…
80K Bonus Points Makes Chase Sapphire Preferred A No Brainer
Chase is currently offering 80,000 bonus points when you sign up for the Chase Sapphire Preferred and spend $4,000 within three months of account opening. That is the equivalent of $1,000 in free cash toward travel (and even more if you strategically transfer points via Ultimate Rewards airline and hotel partners). Earlier in the pandemic, Chase offered an additional perk on this card called “Pay Yourself Back.” Then, you could take those 80,000 points and convert them to $800 in cash to pay down your Chase bill. That deal has narrowed and is now only good for Airbnb and Away purchases.
The new offer is available to those who currently do not have a Chase Sapphire card (either Preferred or Reserve) and those who have not received a sign-up bonus on either Sapphire card over the last 48 months. Generally, two years of credit history and a score above 720 is needed for card approval.
It’s rare that Live and Let’s Fly will offer a post solely on a credit card offer. I’ll make an exception here because this is truly a deal worth signing up for. While I’d love if you would help support Live and Let’s Fly by signing up through the link below, just sign up…wherever the source. This is the best idea publicly available.
