My expectations were so low stepping onto my Aerolineas Argentinas flight in Club Condor (business) class that the mediocre onboard product managed to impress me.
The business class cabin was clean and the color scheme fresh. New IFE units have been installed in business class that offer on-demand programing, a big improvement from the four looping videos with stereo as promised on the website.
Aerolineas Argentinas does not have a lie-flat bed in business class. It does not even have an angled lie-flat bed like some carriers still offer. No, the seat is best described as a generous recliner. The footrest/ottoman is at a 45º angle to the rest of the seat in the “bed” position.
Service was lacking. It wasn’t actively hostile…for the most part…but it was not friendly. And sometimes it was just mean. One FA barked at my seatmate to pull out her tray table for the breakfast service. For the most part, the FAs just did their jobs quickly and without any sort of joy or care. They did not make eye contact and never smiled.
The food was not bad. While the presentation was horrible, particularly the main courses, the taste was satisfactory.
For breakfast one of the choices was cheese enchiladas. Though they looked horrible, they tasted great.
At least Aerolineas Argentinas offers menus and amenity kits.
As it turns out, this video on YouTube — from nearly three years ago — was a remarkably accurate indicator of what the in-flight experience would be like, minus the smiles.

According to the spinner sized narrator in the video all seats are near lie-flat. Having been owned by IB and LH the service must have reminded you of crew trained by the Gestapo school of customer service.

The color setting you used for the plane interiors, well…..you may think it depicts drab. I say get over it! All you BA bloggers are the same, over-entitled. If you are going to put up pics, try to use pics that look realistic. As for Aerolineas, everyone knows it is 3rd rate airline. But knocking it down farther, by using dull pictures, really isn’t fair. Many cruise passengers are put on Aerolineas as part of packages. Sure most Americans will fly AA or DL. Aerolineas is part of SkyTeam, so from JFK or MIA, one could very well land up on Aerolineas. Not by choice!
Yes, it is not the best service. But if you compare the USS 1500 ticket of AER. ARG. against the AMER AIRL. Bussines Ticket starting from 4000 USS, maybe you can find the answer.
From 1000 USS you can “taste” the Bussines Class in Aerolineas Argentina
From that amount you cant even find a turist class in the bigger companies.

Matthew, try to travel on the business class 350-1000 of british airways it is the worst airline in the world, the flight-attendants are amateur and of course they only have the brains to speak a single language “English”.
