Warning: this post is facetious. By the time you read this I’ll be onboard my Aerolineas Argentinas flight in Club Condor (business) class. I’m absolutely excited to try this airline, especially after reading the description of business class on the company’s website.
TO CALL A SPADE A SPADE
Club Condor Class is Aerolíneas Argentinas Executive Class. A non casual name, because it designates a conception of service and comfort of true excellence with the maximum symbol of the Company.
Club Condor…not casusal. Let’s call a spade a spade.
Club Condor Class stands out for innumerable details. From the design of the seats, the dishes, the rugs, the personal hygiene kits, up to the most up-to-date technological resources for the entertainment and communication during the flight (video, audio and satellite telephony). Additionally, a careful selection of the best argentine wines, to accompany exquisite menus and the personalized attention of our crew.
I’m really looking forward to the onboard rugs and satellite telephony.
COMFORT ON BOARD
Here you have a description of the comfort and service on our planes which you have an idea of what you are going to enjoy flying in Club Condor Class.
Great!
AIRBUS-340 (32 Armchairs Club Condor Class)
Seats with ample space among them. They have headrests of adjustable height footrest with various positions.
Excellent. I like ample space and adjustable headrests and footrests.
Each seat has a screen of individual video, where you will be able to enjoy four movies, previews or just opened in Argentina, in stereo.
Four whole movies? Boy, the 8.5hours is going to fly back quickly. And they’ll even be stereo!
The audio system has 12 channels with the most varied musical genders.
I am in favor of gender equality when it comes to onboard audio systems.
You will be able to make satellite phone calls through an individual telephone from your seat, paying with your credit card, to a cost of U$S 7.50 per minute. If you wish to send a fax, you will be to request it to the crew to a cost of u$s 7.50 per page.
It will be great to be able to message my wife via facsimile.
We will offer you a great variety of reading material.
Good.
Moreover, you will also be able to enjoy the exquisite dishes accompanied by a selection of the best argentine wines, liquors imported and champagne.
Great. I’m expecting Krug.
I don’t mean to poke fun of the translation here, because goodness knows I will look like a fool trying to speak Spanish onboard. But I must say, after reading this description of business class, without any pictures of the seats and scant info online, I am really wondering what I got myself into.
Stay tuned!
Wow! They still use faximile?
Aerolineas Argentinas would do itself a massive favor by ditching its long haul routes and just sticking to short-haul, domestic first/business class seats (or hell, even intra-European style “business/first”). Their Club Condor is laughable at best. Compared against LAN/LATAM or Avianca they are woefully, woefully behind the times.
Just ask the portenos FA if they are River or Boca fans.
Well, I’m a flight attendant at aerolíneas argentinas, this was very funny to read!
Oh boy, you’re in for a new whole experience lol
And in the 340-2 that is scheduled to be decommissioned soon! The only good thing it’s the wine.
I’m looking forward to it!
Looking forward to your review of the experience teheee
Aerolineas Argentinas holds a special place in my heart. Returning from Ushuaia, we were booked on a flight to EZE, where we’d connect (on a separate ticket) back to the US. About 15 minutes before landing, the pilot mumbled some apology for an inconvenience: we were landing on the other side of BA, at AEP! The airline promised a shuttle, but none arrived; pressed for time, we paid for a cab.
I sent them an email … and I got a voucher worth $22 to use on a future flight. Great!
Platino Status, the highest status, doesnt offer has any complimentary upgrade for long trips. Just on regional short flights where seats are just a little bigger. Miles needed for a trip to Europe or US is impossible. Travelling more than 50 planes a year, cant get 1 trip. Neither has an econmy plus. The airline was improving, now going steps back again, and became expensive again ( for what it gives). A pitty.
