14 passengers were banned by Alaska Airlines after a rowdy flight from Washington, DC to Seattle on Thursday evening. The passengers, most wearing apparel expressing support for President Trump, refused to keep their masks on during the flight.
Alaska Airlines Bans 14 Passengers After Raucous Flight From Washington To Seattle
Alaska flight 1085 departed Washington Dulles enroute to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Thursday evening. About an hour after takeoff, witnesses reported a group of passengers in the rear of the aircraft, many wearing apparel indicating support for President Trump, took off their masks in unison then refused to put them back on for the remainder of the flight.
Pleas from flight attendants and even the captain fell upon deaf ears. In fact, efforts to seek compliance only escalated their misbehavior.
An Alaska spokesperson noted:
“Last night, a number of passengers onboard Alaska Airlines Flight 1085 from Washington Dulles to Seattle were non-mask compliant, rowdy, argumentative and harassed our crew members.
“Their behavior was unacceptable. We apologize to our other guests who were made uncomfortable on the flight.”
Alaska has identified the passengers and banned them for the duration of the pandemic.
Can I just ask, what is wrong you people? What makes you think you can harass crew members or not wear a mask when company policy dictates that you do? Did anyone force you to travel on Alaska Airlines? If you don’t want to wear a mask, you can drive, walk, or crawl home…
I’m really at my tipping point when it comes to such horrible behavior from inconsiderate, hypocritical people who desecrate the country they express fidelity to through their selfish, childish, and reprobate actions.

I feel so bad for flight attendants and pilots these days having to deal with passengers like the pack of miscreants on this flight. With an even larger protest planned for January 20th, be prepared for similar stories in the days ahead.

I really feel sorry for flight crews that have to deal with these crazies, and while we still live in a free country, there are standards of behavior and decency….clearly these idiots should be made to pay for their stupidity,,loss of jobs, public release of names, and serious no fly listings in national data based…..

It’s sad how the crew’s job description morphed from safety guides to becoming health enforcers with their hands tied down. All DC area airports should have shut down commercial flights for a good week so the authorities can sort and detain all parties responsible for the mayhem.
Perhaps these anti-maskers see themselves as following in the footsteps of the sit-in protestors and Freedom Riders of the 1960s. Disobeying the policies of Alaska Airlines is to disrespect private property. Of course, such disrespect is to be found on both the left and the right. My fear is that the steady creep of statist progressivism over the past century or so will only accelerate with the power of Big Tech behind it and turn the United States into something closer to Singapore or even China. At least Singapore can claim to have a well-functioning fascist technocracy. I have little confidence that an American version would be run so efficiently.

They are getting off easy. Alaska should permanently ban them from flying. Beyond the masks, refusal to comply with crew directives and exposing others to potential infection is unacceptable. It will take severe consequences for these idiots to modify their behavior.
