Qatar Airways uses the Apricot Lounge in Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) for its business class passengers, a nice independent lounge that partners with six airlines.
I liked the bright colors, natural light, and tarmac views of this lounge.
I also appreciated the wide selection of food and drink. There was something for everyone and the food appeared to be high-quality. Vietnamese is my favorite Asian food and the Phở soup looked very appetizing. Having said that, I was saving my appetite for Qatar’s onboard a la carte menu.
Outlets were available around the lounge and the lounge never got too crowded. A business center provided to desktop computers.
A single massage chair was also available:
There was one annoying thing though: the TVs were blaring. I was trying to work and this movie was playing about a man whose wife and son were kidnapped by a Somali and left to die on a deserted island. It was an extremely gruesome movie and I could not help but to be constantly distracted by it. I wish lounges would always keep TVs silenced…
CONCLUSION
I liked this lounge a lot. Other than the blaring TV, it was a pleasant place for my 2.5 hour layover.
Matthew, you may want to add that this hotel DOES have 2x shower stalls in the bathrooms that are no-frills but functional. Priority Pass website does NOT say the lounge has showers, but I was passing through on the same QR J fare you were and enjoyed the shower after the day in Ho Chi Minh
Thanks Michael!
The Apricot lounge isn’t a Priority Pass lounge. I believe you’re mistaking it with the Orchid Lounge near gate 9. Shame because the Apricot does look nicer than the Orchid.
Thanks. You are correct.
Any idea if One World Emeralds traveling in coach on Qatar has access to the lounge?
My flight on Thursday is at 6am. It says the lounge is open on Wednesday from 6am-2am and 24 hours on thursdays. So if I arrive in at airport at 2am would I be able to use the lounge till flight departure?
It is my understanding that the lounge will remain open and you can stay there.
