It’s Cyber Monday and that means there are a lot of good deals out there. But rather than try to sell you products you may not need, I have a different message for you today.
Cyber Monday…Think Twice Before Spending Your Money
First, the content on Live And Let’s Fly is free. That includes a fair amount of clickbait that helps to pay the bills, but also a portfolio of more thoughtful content like trip reports, flight and hotel reviews, miles and points analysis, and even musings about some of the more hot-button issues of the day.

There are a lot of things on sale today. I was considering finally updating my Bose headphones, but I am going to save the money instead. I did buy some hedge clippers for my wife…
You probably don’t really need anything today…so I’m not selling you on anything. You won’t find joy through possessions but from people and time is the currency of love. Yet I do know that there is great joy in giving and the holidays are around the corner.
So if you are going to spend money anyway, now may be the time.
Thanks all for reading and for your support. It’s a great joy to interact with (most of) you and to have a platform like LALF.
Still timely 16 years later…
The few things I sort of wanted to buy this weekend were either stuff that doesn’t tend to go on sale (e.g. car parts) or not really discounted at all (in fact, a pair of trousers I wanted was more expensive during the ‘Black Friday offer’ than it was last week). However, some of the deals on the travel side of things were genuinely good; I only bought a €160 business class ticket ZRH-SKG and an Accor gift card with 20% additional value, but some of the transatlantic business offers on TAP, AM, SAS etc were very attractive and I would have gladly partaken if I had been a bit more confident in my schedule and/or finances during 2024.
It’s good to know that your blog is doing reasonably well and, as you said, people can always skip the clickbaity things if they aren’t interested!
Love the “hedge clippers for my wife”. You don’t see that one every day.
You forgot to promote your river boat cruise here.
I’m gonna assume these aren’t the type hedge clippers the lady from the Frontier story earlier needed.
Lol. These are for the garden.
Would happily support your site but actually didn’t buy anything. In our home we buy things as we need them with almost no impulse buy so we had nothing we needed to buy on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Amazing to see how many stores were selling products with the same original price but people “feel” they are getting a better deal.
