Elderly Woman Slaps Flight Attendant, Urinates On Seat In Alcohol-Fueled Rage

Elderly Woman Slaps Flight Attendant

An irate elderly woman allegedly slapped a male flight attendant in the face and urinated over three seats after he denied her a free alcoholic beverage then took away the drink she was consuming. The outburst forced a flight diversion, where it took several officers to pull the woman off the flight.

Elderly Woman Slaps Male Flight Attendant, Prompting Munich Diversion

The incident occurred on Jet2 flight LS819 from Manchester (MAN) to Rhodes (RHO). As the story goes, the passenger, a woman who appeared to be in her 70s, requested a free glass of Champagne from flight attendants onboard the Boeing 757 jet.

(Side note – Jet2 does sell Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne 75cl onboard for £30.00)

a group of bottles of wine

When that request was denied, she ordered a gin & tonic, which was served. But she apparently grew more “boisterous” and the drink was taken away from her. That’s when all hell broke loose.

In a fit of rage, the woman allegedly slapped a male flight attendant and proceeded to urinate on her seat and those around her. She also cursed and allegedly tried to open the aircraft door. The decision was made to divert and the flight landed in Munich (MUC) to offload the passenger.

In Munich, she was escorted off the airplane by nine police officers. The plane spent two hours on the ground before proceeding to Rhodes.

A Jet2 spokesperson said:

“We can confirm that flight LS819 from Manchester to Rhodes was diverted to Munich Airport yesterday so that a disruptive passenger could be offloaded. We would like to apologize to customers for this unforeseen delay and any inconvenience caused.

The health and safety of our colleagues and customers remain our number one priority and, as a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behavior. We will not hesitate to vigorously pursue any costs incurred as a result of this diversion.”

The urination part is particularly sad and demonstrates a lack of self-control. I understand that may point to some issues that go beyond simply a careless over-consumption of alcohol, but the woman’s repeated demands for free booze strike me as demonstrating she knew exactly what she was doing.

CONCLUSION

An elderly woman was removed from a Jet2 flight after attacking flight attendants. Alcohol appears to be at the root of the issue. It is not clear if she faces any charges or how aggressively Jet2 will come after her for diversion costs.

I believe that alcohol is a gift when used responsibly, but has the great danger of causing chaos like the story above when abused. We must all exercise responsibility when drinking…

    This is the new norm…..

However, the airlines play a big part in this: flights delayed hours, if not days with no A/C; shamed to give up a seat to DYKWTFIA cry babies; alcohol sales at any cost; luggage lost down the rabbit hole; hall monitor mindset concerning mask mandates (I got my hand slapped twice on this one); flights cancelled on short notice due to p**s poor planning; encampments in front of A/L lounges; etc, etc, etc.

My strategy is the first flight of the day (the crazies have yet to wake); legacy carriers (greater chance of recovery); carry-on only (avoid the luggage rabbit hole above); exit rows, economy plus, or first class (NOPE…..I will not give up my seat!!!!); and a copy of War & Peace on my iPad when s**t hits the fan!!

    Bon Voyage!!!!

As a young man, I had a temper perhaps due to alcohol. I don’t believe in alcohol anymore and I stopped drinking entirely. Not even a glass of wine anymore. The better it makes you feel initially, the worse it makes you feel in the end.

Nine officers escorted the urinating elderly woman off the plane? Better would have been two wearing raincoats.

Then again, it was Germany, so maybe all nine volunteered. Hey-oh!

The old saying the one was “full of piss and vinegar “ is apt in this case.

You could put a massive dent in this kind of behavior if the passenger were required to pay for the costs of the diversion. But we’re such a tolerant and accepting society now so it’s not likely to happen.

Ironically, John MacArthur was preaching on the foolishness of drunkenness Sunday. This is a very sad and live illustration of the folly of indulgent behavior!

It’s very sad how many foolish people make spectacles of themselves and how alcohol abuse is so often at the root of it.
