Frontier Airlines Passengers Literally “Vote Off” Obnoxious Woman From Flight

Deregulation may have democratized air travel in the US, but it was a different type of democracy that sprang forth on a recent Frontier Airlines flight, when passengers literally voted off an obnoxious woman.

Frontier Airlines Passengers Rally Together To Vote Off Obnoxious Woman

A Frontier Airlines flight from Trenton, New Jersey (TTN) to Atlanta (ATL) found itself delayed after a verbal skirmish broke out onboard between two passengers and a flight attendant. While not fully clear what transpired, it appears a couple seated in the middle of the aircraft wanted to move up closer to the front (Frontier only offers a single cabin of service). Their request was denied an argument ensued. Then a woman a few rows back began making disparaging comments directed toward the couple.

Enraged, the couple cursed out the woman and told her to mind her own business.

And there’s a racial element to this too, at least potentially. The couple who wanted to move were black and the woman making the “sly” comments was white.

The couple wanting to change seats were removed from the flight.

But then the other passengers rallied together to get the woman thrown off too. A male passenger led the effort, stating,

“Sir, I want her off the plane. I don’t care, I’m trying to prove a point. If you want to be a d*ck to people, we’re going to be a d*ck back.”

(you can listen to him psychoanalyze America in one of the videos above)

A vote was taken and by a show of hands, at least 40 wanted this woman off the flight.

Fearing there could be a disruption in the air if she was allowed to remain onboard, she was also removed by ground staff.

The woman clearly accepted the electoral verdict much like a certain ex-President did, and lashed out at others as she walked off the plane.

In the video, she seems to be dazed at what transpired.

CONCLUSION

A democratic moment unfolded on Frontier Airlines, with passengers joining forces (and raising hands) to remove an unwanted female passenger. It’s actually an instructive warning that our actions have unintended consequences and that two wrongs don’t make it right.

I prefer the rose ceremony that they do in Lufthansa F to kick off unwanted pax. It’s classier.

For goodness sakes, do we really have to bring sly and cheeky politically motivated comments into literally EVERYTHING these days. IMO it’s that kind of behavior that keep the country so divided and entrenched in the “Us against Them” mentality … hmmm it’s almost as if people benefit from keeping us all at each other’s throats and the vast majority on social media constantly fan those flames.

I’m honestly a little surprised Matthew, I tend to see you attempting quite often to stay above that particular fray …

You’ll have to excuse me. When we are left with a choice between a senile bumbler and a narcissistic malefactor, I sometimes get quite depressed.

These types of stories and remarks seem to get more views and comments from people than the trip reports and reviews do, so…not that surprising…

@Carrie: When parts of America decide that the mere existence of others who are unlike them is an existential and political crisis, then yes, “everything” becomes political and people divide. @Matthew – complain all you want about the “senile bumbler,” but at least he’s not bragging about sexually assaulting women; calling Black people “thugs,”; calling Latinos rapists and drug dealers; endangering the lives of millions by doing nothing about COVID; extolling Russia; or demonizing LGBTQ+ folks and inspiring violence against them and democracy. I’m not a huge Biden fan, but this is not a question of the lesser of two evils, and as Carrie’s comment demonstrates, there are a lot of ignorant folks out there who would rather just keep things polite and quiet while millions of us are being attacked, demonized, discriminated against, and harmed. At least Biden’s pushing back on that, which is more than can be said about the American Right at the moment.

There’s ample precedent for this. Many are surprised to learn that captains of pirate ships served via consent of the crew. One could draw parallels between the crew of pirate ships and the passengers of an American ULCC. Anyway, I think this “voting off” phenomenon should be given serious consideration, and perhaps even enacted into formal policy.

Perhaps the voting should take place at the gate………if a pax doesn’t like the look/sound/smell/etc of a fellow traveller. Would save a lot of time in the confined space of the cabin……

And yet again “or don’t travel” is always the third option everyone ignores.

Unbelievable, that these adults are acting this way, and the language they are using and there’s children aboard! Totally disrespectful! Very sad!
