US Airways has been good about offering a 100% bonus on purchased Dividend Miles every second or third month for the last two years, but today is the last day for the current promotion.
- Buy 10,000-19,000 miles and receive a 50% bonus
- Buy 20,000-29,000 miles and receive a 75% bonus
- Buy 30,000-50,000 miles and receive a 100% bonus

Here’s an example of a 100K award I booked for my brother. For 10K miles less, you can fly to both Europe and North Asia.
Bottom line, if you have a trip in mind, it is a good deal to buy these points. Better yet, call in and place your reservation on hold first, then buy the miles. But there is never a guarantee that these bonus miles promotions will continue indefinitely, so think carefully about making an investment today. My brother and I each purchased 90K miles today for a North Asia trip.
Finally, keep in mind that the US Airways MasterCard by Barclays comes with a sign-up bonus of up to 40,000 miles, so even if you are going to Africa or Australia (110K miles in business class), you can buy 40K miles from US Airways for about $1200, receive 40K free, then get 30,000 from the US Airways MasterCard after spending $1,000 and another 10,000 miles for a balance transfer. Suddenly, a business class trip that retails for $8K can be yours for a lot less out of pocket.
