Live and Let’s Fly Weekend Digest: June 04, 2017

Matthew Klint Posted onJune 4, 2017November 14, 2023 Leave a Comment

Although it has been a relatively quiet week, I find myself tired on this beautiful spring Sunday. I’m trying to rest up because travel picks up later this week and then again next week.

I hope to see some of you at the Frequent Traveler University (FTU) in Minneapolis next weekend (June 9-11th). There are still tickets available if you are interested and you can save $20 by using the promo code LIVEFLYMSP at checkout.

Then I’m going to London. I’ll have a separate post on that, but I think the answer to London’s recent spate of terrorism is to visit London. When we refuse to react in fear, we deny terrorists one of their primary objectives.

I wrote a lot on United over the last few days and was frankly surprised at the firestorm my post on a “FA Revolt” created. United announced a new premium transcontinental service concept and added Boston – San Francisco to the mix. Complimentary hot meals will now be served in economy class. I wrote about the concern some FAs that the additional service without additional staffing will be burdensome and make passengers in “regular” economy class angry.

Have a great evening and week ahead.

United Airlines Suspends Service to Venezuela

United Airlines Venezuela

With the Venezuelan economy in shambles, United is strategically pulling out of Caracas (CCS), following the footsteps of many other carriers. The interesting Houston – Aruba – Caracas experiment will end just months after it began.
