I’m live-blogging my SAS EuroBonus SkyTeam Milion Mile challenge this week. Click here for background and route information.
My flight from Warsaw to Paris on LOT Polish was…unique…thanks to a large group of students onboard who did not want to stay in their seats.
LOT Polish E-195 Economy Class Review – Girl Just Want To Have Fun ♫
After arriving from Bucharest, we hopped into the LOT Polish Lounge for a quick dinner, enjoying some red meat and other delicacies before boarding our connection to Paris.
We noticed while boarding our E-195 flight from Warsaw to Paris that there was a large group of French school students returning to Paris…hold that thought.
The E-195 is a comfortable regional aircraft with 2-2 seating. There is no wi-fi or power ports of any kind onboard (and the flight was 2.5 hours, which was not exactly a short hop), but I managed to get some work done during the flight.
Unlike the shorter flight from Bucharest to Warsaw, on this flight, there was a wider selection of drinks available for free, including beer and wine. The same “savory or sweet” snacks were offered but cashews and Polish chocolate bars were also offered.
Other snacks and drinks were still offered for sale…including gummy bears which I purchased for Augustine.
The lavatory in the rear was small but tidy enough.
This was quite an interesting flight, though, thanks to the students onboard, who were mostly girls. As soon as the seatbelt light turned off, they all sprang up and began congregating in the aisle, chatting with one another.
Not only were they loud, but they were laughing and jumping and bouncing (you know, being kids).
A flight came over and sternly told them to sit down so that carts could come down the aisle.
Rather than sit down, they crowded in, with four squeezing into two seats.
Again, the flight attendants reminded them that each one had to have a seatbelt and they had to return to their seats.
And they did…for a few minutes. Like 10 minutes.
And then they were right back in the aisle doing exactly the same thing.
This time the purser came over and was fairly angry, telling them strenly that this had to stop.
And it stopped.
For a few minutes.
And then they were back in the aisles again, giggling and laughing.
This time they were left alone…at least until we began our descent into Paris.
Now I’ve got that song stuck in my head…
Just kids. If that’s the worst thing they do then no biggie.
@Christian … +1 . I enjoy French girls running about whilst speaking French .
Did you stay in the Gold Lounge within the LOT Business Lounge?
Sorry if I missed something somewhere but I’m pretty sure LOT hasn’t left Star Alliance so why did you fly them?
My bad. I just saw your explanation on the other flight. Sorry!
That’s a long flight in a regional jet, especially within Europe. One would think Warsaw to Paris wouldn’t be a regional jet. Then again, Aeromexico has been flying Detroit to Monterey and Detroit to Mexico City in a regional jet without outlets and without wifi. I did Monterey once. It was awful.
