Review: LuxxLounge Frankfurt (FRA)

Matthew Klint Posted onJuly 25, 2018November 14, 2023 3 Comments

The LuxxLounge in Frankfurt (FRA) is hardly a spectacular lounge and yet serves a very useful purpose.

This Priority Pass lounge is located landside, meaning it is before security. As you enter Terminal 1 (Lufthansa Terminal), follow the signs for the “Reisemarkt” (travel market) and you’ll reach the lounge. If you are coming from the Sheraton hotel, the lounge is located directly across the hotel’s east bridge to the airport terminal.

What I love most about this lounge is that if you are arriving after noon or in economy class from a Star Alliance flight and terminating in Frankfurt, this lounge serves as a suitable “arrivals” lounge. The lounge has decent coffee, light snacks, and a shower suite. The lounge is not a “departure only” lounge like many other Priority Pass lounges.

a cup of coffee and a bowl of nuts

And of course this lounge is best of all for those airport workers who want a cup of coffee or glass of wine during a break. Internet is also fast. My Star Alliance office in the nearby Frankfurt Airport Center had even better coffee and showers, but I certainly visited this lounge several times when I was a local.

CONCLUSION

This is a decent lounge for visitors but a great lounge for locals. House of operation are from 6:00a.m. to 9:30p.m. daily.

I think this used to be an Admirals Club back in the day.

Greg, you are right. I think this is the lounge up on the Mezzanine just before the escalator. As Matthew says, excellent location if you are going to or coming from the Sheraton.

This is a horrible lounge and I cannot seriously think of a single good thing to say about it.
