LATAM has unveiled pictures of its business and economy class cabins. The design is simply superb.
Over the next two years, LATAM will update the economy and business class cabins of its fleet of over 200 aircraft. Business class on wide body aircraft will receive the Thompson Vantage XL business class seat, the same we see in SAS Business.
The cabin theme is designed by priestmangoode, a well-respected London design firm. Here’s what it had to say about the refreshed cabins:
It was important to us to imbue the aircraft with a sense of place, but LATAM airlines group encompasses a lot of different countries and therefore different visual identities. we decided to look through commonalities in landscape as the key element that draws everything together, with the design language of the business class cabin drawing inspiration from and reflecting iconic architecture seen throughout South America.
Oy…
Let me translate it: we created a nice-looking design.
I love the cocktail tables in the business class seat. Per priestmangoode, these such tables are constructed with “marble-effect granite that visually references the andes mountains as seen from above.”
CONCLUSION
While I loathe the way this design is described, I certainly love the design. It has been nearly a decade since I did a longhaul trip on LATAM and I look forward to flying with them again.

That business class seating looks stunning. Restrained but stylish. FWIW the first thing that came to mind when I saw it was JK Iguatemi Mall in Sao Paolo where everyone is immaculately dressed, coiffed, and poised even when buying a coffee to go. So maybe that was one part of “design language” of “iconic” South American architecture that inspired the design LOL.
