Transatlantic budget carrier Norse Atlantic is adding new service in August between Berlin, Germany and both New York City and Los Angeles.
Norse Atlantic Will Fly From Berlin To Los Angeles And New York
It has been many years since Los Angeles has seen nonstop service to Berlin, which ended in 2017 when Air Berlin dissolved. Lufthansa briefly operated a New York JFK – Berlin flight after Air Berlin shut down, but that too ended after one season.
But Norse Atlantic announced it will launch transatlantic service from both U.S. cities to Berlin Brandenburg starting in August.
- Effective August 17, 2022, Norse Atlantic will launch daily flights between Berlin (BER) and New York (JFK)
- Effective August 19, 2022, Norse Atlantic will launch 3x weekly flights between Berlin (BER) and Los Angeles (LAX)
Flights times to Los Angeles will vary based upon the day while the New York – Berlin service will operate according to the following schedule:
- N0601 – dep Berlin (BER) 7:20PM, arr New York (JFK) 10:00PM
- N0602 – dep New York (JFK) 12:30AM, arr Berlin (BER) 2:25PM
I find that to be an ideal schedule to maximize sleeping on the eastbound segment and minimize jet lag upon arrival and to maximize the day in Berlin prior to the evening service back to New York.
Germany’s capital is the most-populated city in Germany and the new service will be operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner featuring:
- Premium economy – 56 seats (2-3-2 recliners)
- Economy – 282 seats (3-3-3 seats with 31 inches of pitch)
Both cabins feature A/C power outlets, USB ports, and individual inflight entertainment screens.
Flights are on sale through October 28, 2022, which marks the end of the IATA summer season. Fares start at $120/one-way. Norse Atlantic charges extra for everything from checked baggage to carry-on items to food and drink onboard.
CONCLUSION
Norse Atlantic is moving beyond the route network of its Norwegian Air predecessor, with plans to launch a pair of new routes from the USA to Berlin. The new Los Angeles – Berlin routes marks the first transatlantic service to the German capital in five years from the West Coast.

Not this time.
I love those flight times on BER-JFK
For your future flight list, Matthew, if and when the LA-Berlin starts. And then you could evaluate the UA flight from Palma, Mallorca to EWR. And you’re welcome.
Berlin is underserved because LH only cares about MUC and FRA. United should have added a BER=SFO route a long time ago to serve the west coast.
How about you mind your own business? This is just another display of toxic masculinity, travel snobbery, and lack of class. You have no idea what this women’s situation is or why she may be doing it. Perhaps think about keeping your ASSumptions to yourself. Have the day you deserve.
