The Cathay Pacific Lounge is not easy to access if you are flying on another oneworld carrier, but once you get to T4 the lounge itself is very lovely with comfortable seating and delicious food.
Cathay Pacific Lounge Singapore Review (SIN)
During my long layover in Singapore, I visited every oneworld lounge…though it wasn’t exactly easy visiting this one.
Location + Hours + Access
From Terminal 1, follow the signs to Terminal 4…you’ll take a bus there and this bus trip will take at least 15 minutes. Once you arrive in Terminal 4, you will also have to re-clear security and in my case, justify why I was there (though I was allowed to proceed when I explained I was going to the Cathay Pacific Lounge).
The Cathay Pacific Lounge is located in the departure transit hall, mezzanine level of T4 (post security). It is open from three hours before the first Cathay Pacific until the last Cathay Pacific flight deaparts. Currently, that means it is open from 7:00 am to about 1:30 am each day.
In terms of access, to use this lounge you need one of the following:
- Business Class on a oneworld carrier
- First Class on a oneworld carrier
- oneworld Sapphire status
- oneworld Emerald status
Access is available on the day of travel (or before 06:00am the following day), at the airport from which the oneworld flight on which the eligible customer is travelling departs.
Seating
I arrived just after the 10:00 am departure leaving me the only passenger in the lounge for quite some time. The lounge is “typical” for Cathay Pacific in that it feels like you could be in Hong Kong or London. I love the furniture, plants, and wood paneling…I find the Cathay Pacific lounges always have an inviting environment.
There’s also a work area with two desks (including telephones, computers and printers):
Food + Drink
Regular reader know I’m not a huge fan of “East Asian” food (from Japan all the way down to Indonesia), but there are some exceptions and I love laksa. Here, I ordered some from the noodle bar and was given a buzzer (which seemed a bit overkill considering I was the only one in the lounge).
When the buzzer rang, I picked up my food at the counter and really enjoyed this dish.
A buffet was also available with salads, more Western choices like fish filet and spaghetti, and there was saffron rice with cashews that looked quite good.
Beverages, including alcohol, were self-serve and included beer, wine and spirits, but I did not see any Champagne on offer:
Restrooms + Showers
While this lounge has clean restrooms, there are no showers.
CONCLUSION
I quite like this lounge, though it is rather far removed from the other oneworld lounges at SIN. The laksa was marvelous, but I would not return to this lounge unless I was flying out of T4. However, if you are flying out of T4 give yourself enough time to enjoy a meal here…you won’t be disappointed.
Unrelated, but you must be happy about the Hyatt Carmel Highlands going down a category?
I’ll do a post on that later, but that is a property I don’t use points for any longer. You can sometimes get paid rates less than $400 and that is when I go.
Are you going to rank all the lounges you visited at SIN from best to worst?
Yes. And I may even throw in the Singapore Airlines lounges into the mix.
When this lounge (and T4) was still new, they served Moët. If they did indeed stop, that’s a shame.
CX has consistency with everything in their lounges except wine. LHR and HKG are great. MNL is as bad as a US domestic lounge.
It could be that I missed it, but I looked and did not see it. Perhaps on request only?
Was in the lounge last month and did see multiple bottles of Moët available for self-serve in the fridge. Flew on CX so perhaps they only have it out during peak hours?
Good to know. Thank you!
Were there twice this month, Moet was there both times.
I’m not sure if I lost my comment.
Summary. Review was great thanks.
Laksa is my favorite dish and my favorite of all time is in Sydney. You should check it out for lunch on your next visit! Hunter Malay.
Cathay Pacific lounge serves Dan Dan noodle, not laksa, though they look similar.
