The End To Laundry Bags
Flipside is trying to make laundry bags a thing of the past. Rather than take one from your hotel for dirty clothes a separate compartment is offered that keeps clean clothes away and ready for a return to your closet. Flipside’s website describes it as such:
“The worlds first dual-sided suitcase with a movable partition to separate your clean and dirty clothes! FlipSide Luggage offers Carry-On suitcases that open from both sides, with a moveable center partition that separates the clean and dirty laundry at ANY ratio, WITHOUT sacrificing any space in the bag!
Gone are the days of stealing the laundry bags from the hotel, trash bags, or devising a system to keep track of your clean and used clothing!
On top of that, the benefit of arriving at home to just re-drawer the clean clothes without having to wash the whole suitcase is both, money savings in water and laundry detergent, AND it’s better for the environment!” – Flipside
Key Feature
The top side of the luggage is separated by a zipped liner. Below, you’ll find an image of the top flipped open, the center divide and the bottom compartment. The zipped compartment is extended to show that it can adjust to the available depth not taken by dirty clothes.
In my case, while I did use some of the space for dirty clothes, I also stored shoes in the bottom of the case which I also did not want among the rest of my articles. On the bottom there is a strap to secure and compress items. On the top, a zipped compartment flat against the outside is helpful for smaller items.
The front of the case has a small zip top with netted slots for a passport, phone, wallet, and other quick items travelers may want to retrieve as they move through an airport or checkpoint.
Size
The size of the case is approximately fit for European carry-on size requirements. It measures: 22″ x 14″ x 9″”. It weighs eight pounds empty. I didn’t have an opportunity on this trip to try the case in a European sizer and each airline may have its own standard, but generally I believe that the bag would qualify within the acceptable limitations.
Quality
While it’s not a ballistic nylon (at least it’s not marketed as such) there is a similar durability feel to the popular carry-on material. The four omni directional wheels performed admirably even with added weight on top from an additional personal item. The red stripe makes it easy to identify if checking the bag and reclaiming at the carousel.
The Kimberley prices at $349.
If I were an FA , and if I saw such an irritating roll-on , it would go down the chute as a gate-check right away .
During Camel-a’s (hopefully) permanent disappearance from our consciousness , she can fill it with boxed wine , whilst on her way to visit her patrons Joe and “Dr.” Jill .
Lets leave politics out of an ad for live&lets fly to get money. We gotta support Mathew somehow, no?
@Moe … Good point . I do like visually entertaining ads , and they can be found in older magazines . This one could be spiced up to make it fun .
