San Antonio International Airport is on lockdown after police encountered an active shooter.

Shooting At San Antonio Airport

In a tweet confirming the incident, San Antonio Police noted that an officer-involved shooting had occurred and the airport was under lockdown as a precautionary measure, with no active threat to the public:

There is a confirmed officer-involved shooting at 9800 Airport Blvd. There is no active threat to the public. As a precaution, the Airport has been put on lock down. No other injuries are reported.

Fox 29 in San Antonio reports passengers have been advised by TSA to shelter in place while police secure the scene. A witness notes that TSA informed passengers there was an active shooter and ordered all passengers to a lower level.

Video from the airport shows passengers crowded in an unidentified hallway and on the tarmac.

No one was injured, according to preliminary reports.

This is a developing story.

I’m currently in SA. This guy was shooting indiscriminately off the shoulder of major overpass this morning. It caused quite a panic around the city. Police searched all morning and afternoon before he showed up to the airport with a box full of ammo looking to inflict widespread death and destruction. The SAPD officer that neutralized the threat saved many lives. Cheers
