I’m on the final portion of my SAS Million Mile Bonus trip, with a quick trip to Mexico that I’m sharing about real-time style. Our SJD layover turned out differently than we expected.
After landing in Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), my plan was to hit the beach (even though I hate beaches) for Augustine’s sake, but we decided to stay close to the airport during our layover.
SJD Layover: Airport Lounge Over Beach In Cabo San Lucas
Poor Augustine…he has been a trooper on this whole adventure. After reaching Los Cabos, we went through immigration and then walked over from Terminal 2 (international) to Terminal 1 (domestic).
We had an eight-hour layover, but Augustine said he was “really tired” and just wanted to go to the lounge. On the one hand, I thought I should just put him in an Uber and we go… because we would regret not going. We brought our swimming trunks and even towels along…
But I had a ton of work to do…which is the bane of my existence these days, but a blessing at the same time, so I went instead to the Aeromexico counter and was successfully able to move us onto an earlier flight to Mexico City (more on that in my next post).
With our layover reduced to four hours, we spent the time in the lounge.
That worked out for the best…there was nice coffee and food, Augustine napped, and I was very productive.
The four hours quickly passed and by the time it was boarding time, I was feeling much better about not being behind in work and also happy to be arriving in Mexico City at 8:00 pm instead of midnight.
The beach is going to have to wait…but I do look forward to returning to Baja California once the new Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo Del Sol opens next July.
You hate the beach? what kind of a commie / liberal / MAGA / gun toting / redneck are you? everyone loves the beach!
😉
I love the girls on the beach . If no girls , then no beach .
I like looking at the beach/ocean, but my skin does not tolerate it!
