Pop singer Taylor Swift is naturally quite the world traveler, though her air travel totals for 2023 are not quite as high as I would have thought.
Taylor Swift 2023 Air Travel: A Closer Look
21-year-old Jack Sweeney is a thorn in the side of many celebrities. That’s because he has some sort of secret way to track the private jets of the rich and famous, including Taylor Swift. Though her legal team has sent him a cease and desist notice, he continues to track her private jet and post live updates when she takes flight.
The attorney letter warned, “While this may be a game to you, or an avenue that you hope will earn you wealth or fame, it is a life-or-death matter for our Client,” but Sweeney has chosen to ignore it.
“Ms Swift has dealt with stalkers and other individuals who wish her harm since she was a teenager… the reality has forced our Client to live her life in a constant state of fear for her personal safety.”
Sweeney recently published a YouTube video recounting Swift’s flights for 2023, pointing out she flew:
- Over 178,ooo miles
- Over 170 flights
He seems to chide her for traveling 83x more than the average American:
“Swift’s two private jets flew 178,000 miles in 2023 equivalent to flying around the earth 7 times. emitting ~ 1200 tons of C02 in the process. That’s 83 times the average American.”
Swift famously said, “Jet lag is a choice” after “time traveling” from Tokyo to Las Vegas to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl (she crossed the international date line). Lately, she has parked her private jet and is taking more charters in an effort many think is aimed at avoiding detection from “pesky plebes” like Sweeney.

Is it true that she writes hit songs about the failings of her previous friends ?
If true , I’m out the door .
I think that people ought to respect others’ privacy .
I wonder how long before Kelce becomes the fodder for a future album’s worth of songs?
Yep it’s true.
Crazy how she’s okay with exposing her ex’s mental health issues.
As a civilian, if you fly a plane in US airspace, your flight track is public information. It just takes someone with the time to find and post it. There are many apps that will give you this info. If you want to find TS’s airplane you just need to know the registration number. Even if she charters, if you know the plane number you can still track her.
Where are all those Taylor Swift climate activists?
That seems low no?
I don’t travel for business and I traveled 145,000 miles
Looks almost entirely domestic, hence the shorter overall distance and more sectors. I covered 312k miles last year on 138 segments, with a lot more transoceanic flights
I watched the video. I was thinking it’s a pity that it doesn’t have a Taylor Swift theme song but I suppose that would surely generate a copyright notice. 🙂
Mostly domestic travel and for relatively short distances. She doesn’t encounter too much jet lag.
83X CO2 than the average American doesn’t seem that bad, actually. Her entourage has to be at least a dozen people including equipment. I sympathize that her time is valuable.
Nonetheless, if she wants to virtue signal let her do it like greenies I know who make a genuine effort: They carefully sort their plastics so they can wind up in a landfill anyway or buy cloth shopping bags to only throw them away after a few uses later.
Meh = I ran up just 43,000 air and 20,000 nautical miles in 2023. Nothing to sing about there.
