Tommy Tuberville, the 69-year-old Republican US Senator from Alabama, mocked President Joe Biden earlier this year while Biden was in Europe:
“You watch Joe Biden over in Europe. I mean, I’m afraid he’s going to fall down every time I turn on television.”

Video has surfaced of Tuberville falling down the staircase that was wheeled to an aircraft in 2014 when he was 20 years Biden’s junior.

Ironically, this was on his way to the Military Bowl. In a far more serious matter than this tempest in a teapot, Tuberville has blocked more than 300 military nominees as a protest against the Department of Defense’s abortion policy, which pays US service members and their families for leave to obtain an abortion procedure out of state in jurisdictions in which it is heavily restricted.
CONCLUSION
Politicians are going to do what politicians are going to do, especially in this climate, but you would think that Tuberville might have held back on the jokes about Biden’s balance when he also slipped down the stairs of an airplane.
Ultimately, I bring attention to this matter not to score any political points but as a reminder that making fun of other people rarely is constructive.
Shame he didn’t break his neck and die. We’d be a stronger country with him not in it.

The people of Alabama elected Tuberville, so in that regard, I suppose he earned it. In the real world, he really doesn’t have any business in the Senate. The Senate Majority Leader, a Democrat, is almost just as responsible for the military promotions mess. Tuberville only blocked voting on all of the promotions as one hlock. The Senate fan and has voted on individuals to be promoted. The Democrats don’t want to vote and are using Tuberville as a scapegoat to smear him. Just vote for the 300 or so promotions one at a time, 25 a day, and get the backlog cleared in less than a month.
