Happy New Year from Live and Let’s Fly and I want to use this brief post to discuss my roadmap for this blog in 2015.
As I discussed yesterday, 2014 was not exactly a year of progress for this blog. Trip reports and hotel reviews were few and far between and for the first time in five years, days…multiple days…would pass without a post.
And that is not going to change. At least not yet.
It used to be that when time was short I would put up a quick post or two regurgitating a newsworthy item in the aviation industry. No more. There are other sources for that.
The focus for the coming weeks will be on quality and not quantity — you’ll still see news items like a post on Delta’s new 2015 Skymiles program tomorrow, but in thinking what separates this blog from others it is not the first class travel or the journeys to exotic destinations, but the combination of the two and how my interactions with other people and other cultures have changed my worldview, allowing me to offer a different level of commentary then which Gulf carrier has the best champagne.
My lifestyle of travel must be self-funded and points remain the quintessential avenue to do so. That means that every great points deal or credit card promotion worth pursuing will be highlighted here. Airline alliances coupled with miles and points open up a whole world previously out of reach to all but the wealthy…carefully collecting and redeeming miles and points is just a no-brainer.

A newly re-designed Live and Let’s Fly website is in the works that will better incorporate my vision for this blog and I humbly thank each and every one of you for reading, even as the posts have been more sporadic during this season of change in my life.
Thanks for the update. I am really looking forward to the trip reports to areas not typically covered on other blogs.
Matthew, Happy New Year!!! Wishing and your family Health, Happiness and Prosperity!
