The new Air France Business Class Lounge in Hall L of Terminal 2E at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is now fully open. It’s beautiful.
The lounge is over 34,000 feet square feet and includes exceptional amenities and finishes. Let’s take a photo tour.
The centerpiece of the lounge is Le Balcon, a dining room/bar created by designer Mathieu Lehanneur. It is framed around runways, allowing for great planespotting in a gorgeous interior with a golden mirrored ceiling.
A bar contains a cocktail menu created by the Hotel Lancaster in Paris. The menu includes:
- “Un air de Paris”, a cocktail specially created for Air France where champagne sparkles like the Eiffel Tower and Cointreau opens the gates of the Tuileries gardens with its notes of orange and cognac, enhanced by a few drops of lemon.
- A “Destination” cocktail of the month, inspired by the flavours of a legendary city on the Air France network. Each month, customers will board for a new destination: Shanghai, Johannesburg, New York or Tokyo.
- A non-alcoholic mocktail, to be consumed without moderation, created around an iconic ingredient from the French regions which is renewed every month.
The lounge has a large buffet with foods from around the world.
But it also has a “Gourmet Table” a catering area where a chef prepares the dish of the day in front of customers. While not a full a la carte menu, the open kitchen concept offers freshly-made food.
This lounge also features the largest Air France wellness area in the world. A detox bar offers healthy drinks for purchase, massages are available (for a fee), and an “instant relaxation” area offers a tranquil, cell-phone free area. Best of all, the lounge offers two private saunas.
The rest area looks like first class onboard the 777-300!
Also included: a children’s area and plenty of additional seating:
CONCLUSION
I cannot wait to check out this lounge. But am I the only one who thinks this lounge could just easily be a Qantas lounge?
Apparently Air France doesn’t envision a very diverse clientele….
LOL
I’m in the La Premiere lounge right now. I could go over there and check it out.
Btw, the French really stereotype. They send a lady that only speaks French and Chinese to escort me from the plane even though my nationality is clearly identified as USA. Yes. I have a Chinese last name but I don’t speak it.
I’m sorry but I have to disappoint you. I spent 3 hours there prior to my flight to Detroit back in May (1 pm to 3 pm). It was overall disgusting experience due to crowding, complete zoo. The main room is just a large space without any partioning or dividers, so with every single seat taken it didn’t feel more calm or relaxed than Gare du Nord departure hall on a busy day. The lounge was filled to the brim entire time I was there. Everything was taken and occupied – spa was fully booked that day and didn’t accept new appointments, relaxation room was full (every single coach taken), 2 hours wait for a shower. I was able to grab a decent seat with a table in a back room (you need to go past wc, past spa, past showers). The room was relatively empty because AC in that are didn’t work, so wasn’t nice environment to spend time but at least I didn’t need to stand next to front desk as many people did waiting for a seat.
I was really disappointed. It’s a one thing when a lounge built many years ago can’t cope with growing pax numbers, but here they opened a lounge and the next day it’s basically unusable due to crowding. It’s a very French thing – design over substance.
Thanks for the report. That’s sad to hear.
Wow. You complain a lot
I love Air France
otherthan first or biz on air france !who else can get into the lounge???
Yes I’m here now and I’m having the exact same experience 🙁
