Air France Lounge LAX: Outstanding

I raved about the new Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse lounge so it is only proper that I give credit to Air France for its outstanding lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

Air France Lounge LAX – My First Impressions

While I was turned away from the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, I did enjoy access to the Air France Lounge prior to my SAS flight to Copenhagen and I found this lounge gives both the Virgin Clubhouse and Delta SkyClub lounges a run for its money.

First, it’s very spacious…it’s a far larger lounge than the Virgin Clubhouse without the crowds of the Delta Sky Club. Unlike the Virgin Clubhouse, it also has plenty of natural light and a view of the ramp below.

Second, the food is excellent. When I arrived, breakfast was served including buttery scrambled eggs, crepes made to order, and fresh berries.

The afternoon selection included beef bourguignon, salmon, root vegetables, and potatoes au gratin…all delicious and high-quality.

The bar is fully stocked and complimentary and there’s even “detox” green juice that is similar to what I made from scratch at home.

Third, the Clarins Spa is a very nice value-add. I enjoyed a 20-minute facial which was quite refreshing. Spacious shower suites are also available.

Fourth, the service was excellent. The staff was very kind, especially Joel at the bar who is just a treasure.

This lounge is worth stopping by as well. I’ll provide a full review once I get to the trip report for my current trip.

CONCLUSION

I finally got to visit the new Air France Lounge and found it outstanding.

So which SkyTeam Lounge at LAX is best? Well, it’s not the Korean Air lounge…that’s for sure. But Air France, Delta, and Virgin all offer great lounge products in Los Angeles and Air France can be happy that its lounge offers a very premium experience.

The private area for LP pax is much better than the AF lounge in JFK. There’s a reason why celebrities make up a decent size of pax flying LAX-CDG on LP.

Really all that’s needed in a lounge provided it’s easy to find a seat with no one directly adjacent at all times (ie like 69% of seated capacity) and you can find cubicles to take calls.

The Lounge is open to Condor Business Class passengers as well. I had the chance to try it out in October last year. It was excellent.

Great review – I wonder if KAL will reopen to Priority Pass – with all the upgraded new skyteam lounges – that KAL lounge cannot be that busy
