Air New Zealand is out with a new safety video…another one. Apparently I missed the last one.
I flew Air New Zealand in late November last year and wrote about it here. That was only seven months ago. The following safety video was screened on my flight–
I thought it was funny and I’m sure it wasn’t cheap to produce.

Today, Lucky shared a new Air New Zealand safety video featuring Cuba Gooding Jr and Katie Holmes. It’s well-done. While not as humorous as some of the previous safety videos, it highlights the natural beauty of New Zealand.
I also noticed that Air New Zealand released a “Summer of Safety” movie between my flight and today’s new video:
This one is once again lighter on humor and focuses on the beauty of New Zealand.
And Lucky also pointed out a hilarious safety video from Betty White that I had not seen before (usually I write about all new Air New Zealand safety videos).
Maybe it’s just because I fly United or Lufthansa most of the time, but they’ve both had the same safety video for over two years. Air New Zealand has released three new safety videos in the last year alone!
Air New Zealand has become renown for their safety videos, sort of like Budweiser Super Bowl commercials. But my goodness–that’s a lot of work.
I’d be curious to know how much of the advertising/PR budget is sunk into safety videos. In any case, enjoy the new video and some of the earlier ones if you missed them like I did!
Stingiest and worst Airline program on the Planet, nothing to see here … move on !
Proves the value of winning an Oscar isn’t that great.
