Gracing the Skies recently expressed her disgust at some airlines for sporting such boring paint jobs. I gently disagreed, arguing that a sleek, smooth design is preferable to a tacky eye-grabbing paint job that some airlines resort to (think Swiss’s San Francicso livery).
Wherever you come down in this debate, the New York Times has a handy interactive feature where you can compare past and present liveries of current and defunct American carriers. Hard to believe that airlines like Pan Am, Eastern, and TWA are now mere relics of history…
As a sidenote, I will say that I absolutely love Air New Zealand’s new All Blacks 777-300ER livery:
Awesome All Blacks livery!
