Woman Defiantly Refuses To Remove Bare Feet From Aircraft Tray Table

I love this story. Not only did a woman refuse to remove her bare feet from an aircraft tray table; she shamed passengers for asking her to!

Picture this: two ladies sitting in an exit row on a China Southern flight. It is a Boeing 737 traveling from Nanning and Harbin. The flight takes off and the ladies take their shoes off, lower their tray tables, and place their feet on them. One is wearing socks, the other is barefoot.

A man across the aisle from them demands that they take their feet down. The ladies refuse, stating that had “injured” their feet at ballet practice. The passengers in front of the ladies turn around and also tell them to put their feet down.

Instead of complying, the ladies wedge their feet through the seats an onto the armrests of the passengers seated in front of them!

A flight attendant is called and instructs the ladies to put their feet down. They refuse. They also chide other passengers for “lacking empathy and compassion.” Everyone decides it is not worth the fight and leave the ladies alone for the rest of the flight.

This was all recorded on video and posted on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo.

CONCLUSION

This incident makes me think of Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine. She arrives at her sister’s house to move in, claiming to be penniless, but admitted to flying first class to get there. She really doesn’t care what others think.

Here, the ladies simply didn’t care: they were going to put up their feet and no one was going to stop them.

Their feet would have really been injured by my elbow if they refused to move them off my armrest.

This is why so many chinese flights get a bad rap from kids going on the isle floor to feet in your personal space. It’s a different world.

The pax in front of them should’ve reclined their seats.

      Exit row, so no recline.

You are over-generously labeling these creatures as “ladies” . No lady would remove her shoes and hoist them onto a surface meant for dining, much less behave rudely when asked to desist. Shameful behavior in any venue.

This is what one out of 10 Americans do…. Plus putting the dirty shoes on all the furniture of the lounge before doing this. Uncivilized third world country attitude.

This is uncouth behavior and unbecoming of a true lady, much less a civilized human being with manners.
