How A Man Punished His Rude, Barefooted Seatmate

a person's feet on a seat

Most of us have seen it at one time or another. Some of us have experienced it. I’m talking about bad seatmates on airplanes, specifically those who think they can use the seat in front of them to rest their bare feet. But a man gives us a refreshing reminder of how we can respond to a rude, barefooted seatmate.

Man Punishes Barefooted Seatmate

I’m not against bare feet in general or even going barefoot on a plane…provided you are in your seat and keep your feet in your seat or under the seat in front of you. What is never okay, even if your feet are clean and smell like roses, is placing them on the bulkhead or your neighbor’s seat in front of you.

And while there are all sorts of remedies for dealing with such seatmates, I love the simple solution of the video below:

https://www.tiktok.com/@the.walker.twins/video/6981226155932192005?sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6913579686346753542&is_from_webapp=v1&is_copy_url=0

Totally harmless, yet highly effective.

After the cooking a steak in the lavatory video, I take everything I see on TikTok with a grain of salt and I’m fairly certain this whole video was staged. But for purposes of our discussion, it really does not matter.

I know the path of least resistance is simply to turn around and tell the person to stop…or at least to summon the flight attendant. But a little douse of water seems a far more effective tool and getting a person to cease and desist from ever being so rude again, at least in that matter.

CONCLUSION

Kudos to “The Walker Twins” for showing a gentle but effective way of reminding your seatmate that they cannot put their feet (whether barefoot, in socks, or in shoes) up on your seat.

How would you handle a seatmate who placed his bare feet on your seat?

Could anyone describe the video? I have absolutely no interest in being involved in any way with TikTok. (If not no big deal – I was hoping for a hot coffee-based strategy but the comments here suggest I would be disappointed).

I’m not though, believe it or not (if I understand the age range for boomers correctly) – maybe in spirit, but not by years. I just see TikTok as something for teenagers or college kids. Literally no one I know who’s my age uses it, or Snapchat, for that matter…

Anyone else hoped he was going to shove the bottle over the big toe?

Southwest passengers in the first row propping up their smelly stocking feet up against the bulwark. Yea, I wanted to complain to the cabin staff but when I saw them walk past & say nothing about it to the passengers, I knew it was worthless. If it’s not the cancellations & delayed flights , it’s lo- level BioTerrorism. Time for a rebranding to Southwest Scheisse. Perhaps those SWA flight attendants are deserving of retribution.

    The barefooted passenger deserves worse.

I recall the episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” when Larry is flying coach and the woman in the middle seat asks to switch seats and then subjects Larry to a series of intrusions (while the “Rhapsody in Blue” theme is playing in the background). Funny stuff and often true to life.
