Great Coffee In Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN)

Seoul Incheon Airport Terminal 2 is not only beautiful but also has a beautiful coffee shop where I enjoyed a stiff espresso drink ahead my long flight to Los Angeles. In Terminal 1, the best coffee I’ve found is inside a lounge.

Best Coffee Seoul Incheon Airport (ICN)

Let’s start with Terminal 2 since I was just here and it is accessible to everyone. The morning had started with a redeye from Jarkata to Shanghai, a quick connection in Shanghai, and a flight from Shanghai to Seoul. While I had a cup of coffee on the Shanghai – Seoul flight, it was too watery and I was craving a good cup of coffee upon reaching Seoul Incheon Airport.

Unfortunately, the Korean Air Lounge just had machines that dispensed bitter coffee with UHt milk…I’d rather drink water.

But I found a place called Peace Piece Coffee in T2 fairly close to my boarding gate for Los Angeles. It seems that Peace Piece is a chain, though I have not been able to locate a main website (just Instagram pages for some of the branches).

In any case, it is located nearly near gate 233, open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, and can be reached by telephone at +82 032-743-6546.

More importantly, the double shot flat white was perfect…and particularly appreciated after a coffee-free morning.

Shifting to Terminal 1, the best coffee I’ve found is in the Singapore SilverKris Lounge. I enjoyed an excellent cup of coffee prior to my flight out earlier this year.

Next time I fly through, though, I will try Haneulmaru Cafe (and Taco Bell..there are apparently THREE locations) in Terminal 1.

Matthew, your coffee obsession/infatuation (possibly addiction) is interesting and probably NOT shared by everyone. Good thing caffeine addiction is basically harmless and certainly much safer and heathier than other addictions. Please be aware that there are some adverse health effects associated with very high daily caffeine intake.

Mayo Clinic: “Up to 400 milligrams (mg) of caffeine a day appears to be safe for most healthy adults. That’s roughly the amount of caffeine in four cups of brewed coffee, 10 cans of cola or two “energy shot” drinks.” U.S. Food and Drug Administration agrees. “The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends consuming no more than 200 milligrams of caffeine per day when pregnant.”

Remind me NOT to offer you a cup of coffee when you visit my home, not out of lack of hospitality but because you might gag at the taste and how I prepare my once daily morning cold coffee :-). Gallon water jug, add 12 tablespoons dissolved store brand generic instant coffee, 1 quart milk, ~20 packets aspartame or sucralose (I have a sweet tooth), water until full, creates 8-10 servings.

(We can discuss the debatable “benefits” of saunas and steam rooms another time.)

Thank you for the entertaining articles, particularly regarding the SAS EuroBonus SkyTeam Million Mile challenge. Despite some of the previous comments regarding Augustine’s brief meltdown and brief illness, it’s clear that you and your lovely wife are devoted and caring and conscientious parents. Any child would be proud and happy to have Dad take him on this sort of adventure, he’ll probably remember it for the rest of his life and brag about it to his friends. Can’t wait to read in a few years about a similar adventure with your daughter. Looking forward to reading about where the 2 million miles take you and your family. Thanks again. (BTW, if you and Heidi ever want to adopt a Medicare aged “not quite as adventurous” traveler, please let me know :-).)

Curious, do you (and Augustine) ALSO earn the usual RDMs for each segment? In other words, are the million miles (each) IN ADDITION to or IN LIEU of RDMs earned per flight? Thank you.

I always appreciate your comments. I’m admittedly a coffee addict, but I do have three cups a day (essentially six espressos). My wife drinks about six cups of pour-over!

But yes, I’ll avoid coffee at your house! 😉

And yes, I cannot wait to take my daughter traveling…she’s just a little too young right now.

Finally, yes, we earned RDMs on this trip too…about 25K. Still not nearly close to helping me renew my SAS Gold status, though, since I booked such cheap fare classes.

Good to know, you both deserve the RDMs. Thanks again.

Dr., What is your opinion about the effects on “gastritis” ?

Does an abundance of coffee or orange juice cause or irritate it ?

So , I avoid all espresso and citrus juice .

Must admit I got the jitters from viewing the photo. But I’m a pour-over so I can try to control the caffeine as I gulp it down.

Keep these coffee reviews coming! I love coffee, and I do add every coffeeshop you share across the world to my Google Maps lists. One idea; you should create a publicly available Google Maps list with all of these coffeeshops across the world and let people follow the list!
