Birds of a Feather Get Two Seats Together

Matthew Klint Posted onJuly 24, 2013December 9, 2016 7 Comments

My brother travels to the Bay Area regularly for business and buys same-day tickets which has led to frequent trips on Southwest Airlines. Burbank Airport is his preferred departure point in LA and he flies out of the “other terminal.” (United operates out of Terminal B so I haven’t seen Terminal A since my JetBlue trip a couple years ago). Anyway, he sent me the following pictures yesterday afternoon as he went through security.

Water bottles? Nope.

Yogurt? Nope

Scissors? Nope

Birds? Sure.

And the woman was on my brother’s flight to Oakland! Apparently she had a Business Select ticket and was first to board, occupying a seat in row one. With the bird still on her shoulder staring down subsequent passengers searching for a seat, she managed to keep the two seats next to her empty before finally putting the bird in a cage after boarding had completed.

I will give her credit for finding a novel way to ensure more room to stretch out…

Anyway, you know how I feel about that airline – Southwest is for the birds.

Personally I grew up with Parrots, I’d probably ask her to slide over or get up to sit next to her 🙂 Honestly though I am shocked an FA or someone didn’t ask her to put the bird away earlier

Funny. But then again I’m amused as I’m a companion to three spoiled birds!
