When a white guy got mad at a black guy for filming him on what appears to be a Scoot flight, he made the critical mistake of escalating the situation, focusing on race, throwing the first punch, and ended up dripping in blood.

I’m calling this black versus white because I watched the video below and it seems to be all about race even if it started because the white guy did not like the black guy filming him without his consent. The black guy threatened first (to knock out the white guy), but the white guy, wearing a Boston Celtics hat and sporting an Australian accent, responded by making fun of his ebonics and inflaming the situation instead of walking away. He then repeatedly challenged the black guy to a fight, much to the amusement of the black man. Then the black guy challenged him to throw the first punch and like Kamala Harris baiting Donald Trump at the debate last night, this idiot took the bait and punched…
….and wound up sitting on the aisle with a bloody nose being arrested.

The black dude looks like a piece of work too. Filthy mouth and a smart aleck. Plus, even though we have no reasonable expectation of privacy on an airplane, I do think we have a reasonable expectation not to have some stranger film us as we are walking down the aisle.
But for whatever smidgen of blame the black guy holds, the white guy never should have opened his mouth, never should have made fun of the way the black guy spoke, never should have made threats, and never should have thrown the first punch. When you punch first, expect to be punched back…and then some.
It’s all a needless, stupid, counterproductive exchange.
UPDATE: This event happened in December 2023 (but was sent to me by a reader today…the first I had heard of it) onboard Scoot flight TR396 from Singapore (SIN) to Manila (MNL). The Australian man had been rowdy on his Perth (PER) to Singapore (SIN) flight and that continued on his connection. He was denied entry to the Philippines and deported.
Be careful who you f*ck with. Step one, look at their ears. If cauliflower, step two is apologize and walk away.
