A four-hour flight from Turkey to England turned into an eight-hour journey after the plane had to make an unexpected stop in Bulgaria to dump off an unruly passenger.
An Onboard Brawl With Punching, Biting, And Throwing Trash Forces Diversion
A fight broke out onboard a Jet2 flight from Antalya Airport (AYT) to Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) and it quickly turned violent. Jet2 is a British budget carrier based in Leeds that offers a mix of scheduled and charter services.
Two passengers are captured on video in the midst of a tussle, though a man in a striped shirt seems to be the instigator. Another man tries to push him away, but they end up exchanging blows. As the other man puts the striped shirt man into a headlock, he is bitten on the neck.
Meanwhile, another passenger throws trash (or what appears to be a bottle) at the striped shirt man.
The flight ultimately diverted to Bulgaria to offload the troublesome passengers, turning a four-hour flight into an eight-hour trip.
I have to laugh at the video below, posted on TikTok, that captures the fight that broke out onboard and is overlaid with a Jet2 advertisement…
Is anyone surprised this happened on a Jet2 flight to England? Jet2 should indeed preface its advertisements with warnings about the skirmishes onboard that are bound to happen when you mix alcohol and airline tickets anyone can afford…
I feel like these stories are very common on British budget carriers with middle and low-class Midlanders “on holiday.” Lol.
Keeping it trashy indeed.
One can only try to imagine the trascendental topic of discussion before the disceptation.
Lol monkeys aren’t only at the zoo.
At least it’s only the customers, unlike United flights…
Dao deserved it. Bravo poo the Republic crew and the cops.
Chavs being Chavs….
I wonder what happens when you mix Florida and English on the same budget flight.
Why is it ALWAYS flights to/from the UK that make that kind of headlines?
It’s common in Jet2 flights due to the type of passenger. (Chavs) They should say enjoy your FIGHT with us today.
