Delta Flash Sale Offers 15–20% Off SkyMiles Awards To Warm-Weather Destinations

Finding value in using Delta SkyMiles on flights originating in North America is difficult, but occasional “flash sales” may be worth looking into, like Delta’s current sale to warm-weather destinations from New York and Boston.

Delta Launches Limited-Time SkyMiles Flash Sale From New York And Boston

Through February 26, 2026, Delta is offering 15–20% off award travel to select destinations in the Caribbean and Central America. The promotion applies to award tickets only and is valid for travel this spring from Boston and New York City.

Eligible Destinations Include:

  • Nassau, Bahamas (NAS)
  • Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (GCM)
  • Marsh Harbour, Bahamas (MHH)
  • St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands(STT)
  • St. Croix, US Virgin Islands (STX)
  • Aruba (AUA)
  • San José, Costa Rica (SJO)
  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (POP)
  • Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR)

Key Details

  • Booking window: February 24–26
  • Cabins: Delta Basic and Main Cabin
  • Award travel only
  • Discount: 15–20% off standard award pricing

Travel Windows

  • Boston (BOS): March 1–30
  • New York City (JFK/LGA): March 1–April 30

Sample Award Pricing (Government Tax Additional)

From New York (JFK):

  • JFK–Grand Cayman (GCM): 14,000 miles roundtrip
  • JFK–Aruba (AUA): 16,000 miles roundtrip

From Boston (BOS):

  • BOS–Puerto Plata (POP): 10,000 miles roundtrip
  • BOS–Nassau (NAS): 12,000 miles roundtrip

As with most Delta award sales, availability is limited and pricing can vary by date and route. Always check and compare the cash price of your route versus using miles. 16,000 miles to Nassau may sound like a good deal, but if the ticket is only $260 and you’re paying $128 in taxes on top of that, you’re better off saving your miles for other redemptions (at least in terms of the way I value points, which is still two cents each, even for Delta points)

Remember too that “basic economy” SkyMiles tickets, like revenue tickets, are not refundable.

SkyMiles remain quite valuable for routes outside the USA and Canada, but occasional deals like this flash sale are at least worth considering.
