Comedian Savages Spirit Airlines

Matthew Klint Posted onNovember 18, 2017November 18, 2017 1 Comment

Comedian Brent Pella has a beef with Spirit Airlines. The stand-up comedian shares of his recent Spirit experience in the form of a video entitled, Why You Shouldn’t Fly on Spirit Airlines.

I would not have bothered with a post if it was not clean or if it failed to make me laugh. Honestly, I think it’s funny. However, if you’re not inclined to watch the video above, here’s the storyline:

  • FA asked a group of passengers to move due to a weight/balance issue
  • Only Pella volunteered
  • No one else was forced to move
  • The FA sat down next to Pella and he asked if everything would be okay
  • She said, “We’ll see…” and walked away

While I did not find Spirit Airlines that bad, I surely would not go out of my way to fly them again. You can read about my transcontinental “Big Front Seat” experience here.

I never felt any safety fears. Instead, I felt the comfort of the seats and raucous behavior of my fellow passengers made the experience quite uncomfortable.

I believe it safe to assume that had there truly been any serious weight or balance issues, other passengers would have been forced to move. Finally, let’s not forget this whole sketch could be fictional.
