Delta’s New José Andrés Menu Looks Surprisingly Good (Even If The Press Release Wasn’t)

Delta Air Lines is updating its in-flight dining experience with a new partnership that brings the flavors of Spain to the skies. Yes, the press release is overkill, but I think the menu choices sound very appealing.

Delta Air Lines Partners With Chef José Andrés For New Inflight Menu

Delta Air Lines has announced a new culinary collaboration with Spanish-American chef José Andrés. Beginning November 4, 2025, the chef’s signature dishes will debut in Delta One and First Class on select international and domestic flights, with a broader rollout continuing through 2026.

The menu, inspired by Andrés’ Spanish heritage according to Delta, will feature dishes such as Spanish Tortilla with Pisto Manchego, Braised Beef Short Rib in Mojo Rojo BBQ Sauce, Stuffed Piquillo Peppers with goat cheese and mushrooms, and Spanish-Style Chicken with sherry and dried fruit sauce.

According to Delta, the partnership aims to deliver “restaurant-quality dining experiences in the air” while showcasing bold, globally inspired flavors. The airline says the collaboration reflects its continued investment in premium customer experiences across its network.

Stephanie Laster, Delta’s Managing Director of Onboard Dining Experience, said, “Delta is a curator of taste experiences. Just as we lead in operational reliability, we are on the leading edge of culinary innovation — offering delicious meals that build a sense of connection to the world we serve while reflecting culture, craft and care.”

In addition to the new menu, Delta is also introducing an upgraded wine program curated by Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson, emphasizing selections from Italy, France, and Napa Valley. The new lineup will be introduced across premium cabins through 2026.

Do These Celebrity Collabortations Matter?

One Mile At A Time rather cyncially tore apart the press release, calling out claims like Delta is “redefining the onboard dining experience” or that Delta “on the leading edge of culinary innovation” or that “Delta has been quietly transforming its in-flight dining into something that feels more like a restaurant experience than any other, standard airplane meal — not just serving meals but serving moments.”

Yeah, cringeworthy indeed.

But I do want to say that I genuinely appreciate Delta’s investment in onboard meals…the meals I’ve enjoyed on my last four Delta flights are very good for airline meals (though I find it annoying that Delta has cut green salads on domestic flights…which seems so cheap).

Ultimately, a delicious airline meal is actaully not hard to achieve, which amazes me how United Airlines so often bungles this. But Delta does not (though you may want to avoid ordering salad from Chicago O’Hare) and I look forward to the burger or short ribs on Delta…and I look forward to trying these dishes as well.

CONCLUSION

Chef José Andrés joins a growing roster of Delta culinary partners as the airline continues to elevate its premium inflight dining program. But beyond the trite marketing, I do give Delta credit for offering food onboard that I actaully enjoy eating.

Still remember the Michelle Bernstein DL menu. Promising scrumptious food adapted to high altitude dynamics. Lasted a few weeks. Bland meals that had pax running for the first available fast food on arrival.

How is someone named Jose not yet deported?

Especially since this F&&k sells overpriced garbage to people who deserve to be screwed according to posters here for being able to carries $23 tacos and $32 Salt Air Margaritas.

While the “poor” can’t buy chips and soda for their illegitimate kids because Schumer is afraid of a horse faced former bartender.

Are you doing a caricature, or do you really mean that? Like, the hate for Hispanic-sound names. Yikes, man.

As to the shutdown, yeah, bipartisan negotiations should resume. And, no, it’s both sides that need to come back to the table and serve the American people, including food assistance, healthcare, and paying government workers, like ATC.

No hate at all, just stating facts. A majority of people named Julio, Jose and Juan in America are here illegally and need to be checked. If you are an advantage gambler like me you would take that bet at 11/10 every day and get rich.

Now you can debate pulling everyone of f the streets but my point still stands. Math is still math.

Dave, Andres is proud to be naturalized US citizen and one of the most wealthy chefs. His restaurant group funds a number of charitable causes . T he World Central Kitchen provides disaster relief . He is an Independent and is now considering a Congressional run for office.

Which in itself is a damn shame. Allowing foreigners to run for Congress and other elected offices gave us the freak that married her brother in Omar and next the commie in New York. That said, I’m rooting for the sand clown in New York so he can fail magnificently.

But I will give Jose credit for doing better than most beaners at what they are best at. No, not cleaning toilets, I mean making tacos for gringos. He found a way to get the stupid f#cks to pay $20 for one because he’s a “celebrity chef”. Even the rich can be stupid with their money. But it’s mostly losers buying his garbage because of marketing on their annual trip to Vegas.

90% of the population truly deserve to be poor, broke and miserable. And by the way, World Central Kitchen is a scam and a tax write off.

Credit where credit is due to Julio or whatever his real name is for scamming the system.

            @Dave

That’s fine, please enjoy your local Taco Bell in Pensacola while the rest of us evolve. Oh, and FYI, he is originally from Spain. Not that it matters. More so that you love to make him out to be solely a $20 Taco guy. In fact, his Med focused restaurants are some of the best you will ever try. As well, most of his venues are very approachable on the scale of the restaurant industry now. If you ever left Pensacola and your local Taco Bell you would know this.

          Any serious source for this?

Also what does this have to do with tbe topic? Why the need to hijack comments section just to espouse your racist and xenophobic views?

Alabama decides that the best thing to represent themselves in the Senate is a former football coach that’s hated by half the state (the ones that say Roll Tide like they’re receiving money enemas from Procter and Gamble) who obviously has brain damage from playing without a helmet. And that’s before you factor in Tubby Wubby’s genetic damage from being Southern. Arkansas elected as governor a woman who looks like a man whose main qualification was being the daughter/son of the former governor and being able to parrot Mango Mussolini’s lies with a straight face. Oklahoma replaced the stupidest man to ever serve in the Senate with a guy named Markwayne, who’s shockingly white. Marjorie Taylor Greene represents an area whose claim to fame is the setting of Deliverance. And then there’s that demure southern belle Miss Lindsey Graham. Shall I continue? Because I haven’t even gotten to Hillbilly Bear and Mango Mussolini yet.

That being said, I agree with you regarding the population, only I believe that 95% of humans deserve to be poor and miserable. And I take “Kill The Poor” by Dead Kennedys seriously.

Being a Washingtonian, Andres is a hero to our city. Truly, he is the person that transformed DC from the hinterlands of food to becoming one of the most exciting restaurant cities in the country.

As to his work with more commercial line food….I suggest you try the Capital One Lounge at DCA. It is unreal good. To the point that I schedule flights around lunch or dinner to eat there before. Sure, reheating on a plane will have its challenges – but if anyone can do it, it’s Jose.
