SAS launched service between Houston and Stavanger, Norway last summer using a 44-seat jet featuring an all-business class configuration. Operated by PrivatAir on behalf of SAS, the flight operates six times per week and features an outdated “angle lie-flat” business class. The flight also has a lot of award space…even for summer 2015 travel.
Business Class for the Whole Family to Europe
If you have Star Alliance points and are trying to get to Europe this summer, good luck…with Lufthansa holding back space till the last minute and space on other carriers booked, pickings are slim.
But the “oil route” between Houston and Stavanger has a healthy number of award seats, even for travel in the next two months–
Even with four seats requested, there are several days in June, July, and August with availability.
No Aeroplan Fuel Surcharges!

While ANA requires the fewest miles, it will tack on a $403 fuel surcharge to the ticket. Plus, you cannot book one-way trips at half the round-trip price. Redeem with Aeroplan and that fuel surcharge is not passed on. 45K for a one-way business class ticket to Europe remains an incredible deal.
