Join Me For Frequent Traveler University In Chicago!

FTU Chicago 2019 Discount

Next weekend, I’ll be speaking in Chicago at Frequent Traveler University (FTU) and extend an invitation to join me for a great day of discussion on miles and points.

Frequent Traveler University Chicago 2022

I’ll be speaking on stage at the Travel & Adventure show and also speaking at an FTU Advanced event on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

Unlike past FTUs, this one will be a bit more intimate, with three socially distanced tables with a cap of 30 people each where speakers will cover subjects in a conversational way. This will allow for greater audience participation and questions in a setting that hopefully will deliver even more relevant insight into your travel and credit card spending patterns.

Tickets for FTU Advance are $149 ($80 for FTU online members) while if you just wish to visit the T&A show, the cost is $20 ($0 for FTU online members).

You can purchase tickets here.

FTU Advanced will take place at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, just a short distance from ORD airport and the Travel & Adventure show will take place in the adjacent Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

At FTU, I’ll be co-hosting three roundtable discussion with Ethan Steinberg entitled “Elite Status Strategy for 2022” (at 8:40am 11:15am, and 2:00pm). At the T&A show, my talk is entitled “United Airlines vs American Airlines: Which One is Better for Power Travelers?” and particularly relevant in Chicago, which is a hub for both carriers and will be at 10:15am.

Other speakers include:

  • Angel Trinh – Pennywise Traveler
  • James Larounis – Upgraded Points
  • Juan Escobar – VASTtraveling
  • Victoria M Walker – The Points Guy
  • Ethan Steinberg -The Points Guy Contributor
  • Madeline Sall – Travel Writer

The FTU Advanced event includes lunch on Saturday.

CONCLUSION

I look forward to returning to Chicago next weekend for FTU and hope to meet and greet many of you, dear readers. I don’t do FTUs for profit, but because I love miles and points and hope, in some way, to share my skills and knowledge with others in a helpful way so they too can enjoy what I enjoy so much.

Ugh Victoria, sure it will be some woke nonsense about the “responsibilities” travelers have along with other liberal babble.

And no one will have the courage to call her out on it. I get it, no one wants to be canceled.

I don’t think Victoria Walker will be saying much about that. She’s making headlines for her “salary transparency” after leaving TPG and telling people how much she made. Twitter is abuzz.

Yes, I’m surprised by all the commotion.

Her salary tweet might be a good story in itself. I don’t have an issue with her actual release but does it tell the entire story? I would think in your industry when someone works at a place like TPG the extras are a huge part of why someone takes that job. Free travel, an expense account, etc make the total return from the job much more than the actual salary. Yes it’s “work” and you are always pitching cards but $100k+ isn’t horrible doing something you are passionate about.

As you both said, the story gained more traction than most thought.

I’ve assumed working for red ventures pitching credit card sign ups, display ads, general advert surveillance of internet consumers.. there would be some sort of eat what you kill salary tied to the revenue your posts generate. If you’re a popular writer with a static salary this would indeed be a poor deal for you.

The good news is Harriet stepped in as the Tolkien black on TPG as they say on South Park. Sadly Victoria found she was easily replaced.

I’d love to hear you speak although the notice is too short. Do you have any prior knowledge of who will be speaking at the event? TPG has been an unmitigated disaster even before the revelations about misconduct started leaking out. When they killed off comments so people couldn’t call them out on the BS they spew, that was the last straw for me. Then there’s someone who from all appearances got yanked from BA for plagiarism. Put together, that’s some pretty low integrity company that you’ll be in for the event, which is unfortunate as you deserve better.

Matthew, the picture! Where do I find it so I can order a print? The plane over Marina Towers is stunning!

Will have to miss it for an AA/AS “Mileage Run” to Colombia, guess I already made my decision!

Do you have any other speaking engagements this year? Unfortunately, I will miss this event.
