This Violent Thug On Frontier Airlines Flight Needs To Face Justice

Matthew Klint Posted onOctober 23, 2021November 14, 2023 58 Comments

a man in a hat on an airplane

I cover a lot of in-flight misbehavior on Live and Let’s Fly, but I don’t think I’ve seen an incident that has made me angrier than a man who egregiously cursed out a flight attendant on Frontier Airlines, then apparently walked away after the flight. This thug needs to face justice for his deplorable action.

Violent Thug Needs To Face Justice After Horrible Rant On Frontier Airlines

First, a word on masks and airplanes. I don’t care that you don’t like masks or think they are ineffective. I really don’t care. I don’t like them either. Whatever you views on their efficacy, when you buy an airline ticket, you agree to wear one…just like you agree to wear a seatbelt. It’s part of the bargain. Don’t like it? Then walk.

Believe me, I look forward to the day when we no longer have to wear masks onboard. I see so many absolutely worthless loosely-fitting cloth masks that the whole thing seems like a mindless charade to me. But it doesn’t matter. It. Doesn’t. Matter. An airline can require passengers to wear masks if it so chooses. If it does, you have a choice: abide by the rule or find another form of passage.

Which leads us to our Frontier Airlines flight. In a video posted on Reddit, a man is captured unleashing a string of profanities then threatening a flight attendant who told him to put his mask on.

Will anyone defend this thug? This marks the disgusting behavior of a deranged, depraved, and petulant little man.

Here’s the sad thing. The guy apparently was not arrested. The passenger who posted the videos above was asked and said, “I know the cops talked to him upon landing but then saw him headed to baggage claim a few minutes later.”

His action does not call for a scolding. Instead, this thug should be be facing a $50,000 fine and jail time for threatening a crewmember. Listen to the video. Between the obscene language, he threatens to hurt the flight attendant. It’s recorded. It’s there for all of us to see.

So does anyone recognize this man? Please share this video and let’s identify this thug so that he will face justice for his actions. The skies should not be a place where flight attendants are scared to come to work because they fear these sorts of passengers who have no respect for other people.

One sidetone: Why would the flight attendant in the first video above try to stop the other passenger from recording the encounter? Sure, it shows that flight attendants were not in control, but what were they supposed to do when confronted with a violent thug? The video provides valuable evidence of what happened onboard.

And a word to the thug: learn some respect you loser. You think you’re a patriot? You’re a traitor to this nation, a coward, and a fool. This country will rot because of losers like you. Don’t take out your aggression on a poor flight attendant trying to do her job.

CONCLUSION

This incident really upsets me…I am so sick of those who use vile language because they lack the vocabulary to properly express their thoughts. Clean up your mouth when you’re in public and if you want to fly, realize that a mask is part of the deal. Now let’s bring this thug to justice. Please reach out to me if you know who it is. These incidents will continue if they go unpunished.

The language is vulgar but I am much more concerned by the flight attendant’s behavior. She is violating the videographer’s personal space when she reaches in to physically touch him and his phone. Her failure to respect social distancing is exactly the type of behavior that is prolonging the pandemic and endangering the lives of everyone aboard this flight.

The lack of repercussions is what emboldens these uncouth dolts. Why fellow passengers don’t say something…well I get it, no one wants to get into a fight with a maniac, but this has gotten so out of hand, airlines, police, FAA, congress need to act and ensure that those who think it’s okay to behave this way only have their own 2 feet to use to travel with.

Do bandages count as a face mask if you punch him in the face until he bleeds? These anti-maskers are annoying enough. When they become obnoxious and threatening they need a lesson that won’t be soon forgotten. There was a time when if a fight broke out, the individuals involved were separated, the end. People were much more polite back then.

Why should flight attendants check if someone’s seatbelt is fastened ? Maybe they should let everyone walk around the cabin whilst the aircraft is taxiing.

After all, the chance of catching covid on a plane is really low. Chance of a plane crashing is really low. So why have any rules ?

An FA’s role is to follow federal laws and airline policy, whether they make sense to them, whether they want to accept them or not.

Something else. The police who met the flight, interviewed a-hole and then let him go should get a dressing down too. This is the major reason why this keeps happening. Overlapping jurisdictions and none of the law enforcement officials want to get involved, so the transgressors don’t feel any repercussions for their behavior, which emboldens them to do it again. And with 25 years in aviation, I know from where I speak.

You sound like a lunatic yourself by ranting and raving about cursing and profanity. Cursing and profanity is protected speech. Free speech is a human right and anyone has a right to use profanity. I didn’t watch the video and can’t comment on any other points, but I can say your biggest gripe bout this man (using profanity) is disgusting and outrageous. I thought you had more sense than that to make the central point of your argument for government action about protected speech.

Are you for real, it was a private company, a private contract, when he paid for the ticket he agreed to obey their rules, if he didn’t like it, take a hike. If I yelled out “Fire” in the middle of a packed movie theatre, a private business, is that free speech? Stop being so melodramatic, the animal in this video is a tosser and deserves to be jailed, they’ll gag him inside for sure and probably plug a few holes at the same time, woops! Problem solved.

Your whole article suggested prosecution with profanity use being cited by you over and over again as the worst thing the guy allegedly did. It’s reasonable to conclude that’s a reason why you want him prosecuted. Use of profanity should be irrelevant to any prosecution or charges.

Flying an airline isn’t some sort of soapbox in the middle of a public square. You have zero rights of speech on a private company’s property.

You’re flying on the airline’s rules. Behaving appropriately is one of those rules.

The minute he started menacing the crew it should have become a federal case. I’m really lost as to why the crew did nothing. After all, who knows if on that day the guy, wasn’t in a ‘normal’ or ‘good’ mood, what happens if he’s pushed a little bit more by a crew or other passenger and actually does harm. Or he forgets to take his meds, goes through a rough patch, etc. For all we know he might already be a convicted criminal.

Jackson, this is unfortunately a bad day for you. I’m sorry to say but you just picked a fight with the wrong guy at the wrong time.

I am currently in training to be a domestic violence advocate. Yesterday, I watched video of a 2 year old little girl who fled from her abusive father with her mother. They lived on $36 per week, and slept where they could, while the father wouldn’t leave them alone and kept fighting for custody. It was a heartbreaking, soul crushing video to watch. Being 35-36 thousand feet in the air, Jackson, is not escapable. This flight attendant was no more able to escape the abuse than the two year old was in the horrible video. So you just picked a fight with someone who has all the sympathy in the entire world for this flight attendant, and all the gratitude for Matthew for expressing the anger that so many people should be feeling.

Jackson, you also made a huge mistake by opening your mouth when you didn’t even watch the video. Well, I got news for you, buddy. I did. And it’s vile, disgusting filth and grime. How would you feel if you were spoken to this way with NO WAY TO ESCAPE? Watch the video. And if AFTER you watch it you still feel as if Matthew is wrong, then I challenge you to a fight. Game on, Jackson. You picked a fight with the wrong guy, and I just made it public. I, too, have had it with entitled brats thinking that they can get away with this vile, scummy behavior.

We are putting 100% of the in-flight enforcement on the flight attendants and occasionally the captain if the situation escalates; why don’t those of us who are able bodied step in and then these cases of air rage would certainly diminish; if the idiots just have to worry about 2-4 flight attendants, who are spread out in the plane, they might think twice before raging. Passengers have an input. What if those on Flight 93 said “no, not today, I don’t want to get involved.” The “it’s not my job to intervene, only to film it” or to blog about it is weak. Step up. Yes you may miss your connecting flight or get home late to watch TV due to filing out a police report. Worst case is you take a punch. What’s it worth to you? Would you tolerate it anywhere else like you do in the skies? Reprehensible also to sit by and let children listen to this abusive language without intervention. Stop the madness.

Crews are trained to handle unruly passengers. In many recent videos we’ve seen strong male passengers actually helping crew out in restraining or carrying those fools.

If you go to a night club do you throw a guy out for being a drunken fool ? No, there’s a bouncer. If he needs help he will ask for it or call law enforcement. Same case here.

+ Some passengers might want to avoid coming close to someone without a mask, or risk getting themselves injured or being accused by police for getting into a fight with the guy and possibly get sued by the guy.

I have to agree with you regarding this passenger’s behavior. What bothers me is the stewardess at the end trying to block the camera from recording the event. Why did she do this? I wonder, if this had happened on American or Delta, would the pilot immediately have turned the plane around and landed it and this passenger placed in Federal custody, which is where he belongs in my opinion. We know this has already happened with them. What is the deal with Frontier. Why doesn’t Frontier do something. What kind of a work culture do they have that allows this ? They could for example put this passenger on a no fly list and make it public. Has Frontier even made a statement about this or are they deliberately trying to keep it quiet so as not to antagonize the Trump base out there that flies on Frontier and will stop flying on it if they can’t throw temper tantrums about masks.
