Less than a week into my new position in Frankfurt, I find myself enjoying the job, enjoying Germany, and quite happy to be away from law school.
I camped out at the airport Sheraton for a couple days (eating my breakfast and dinner in the club lounge), but have now found at least a temporary apartment in the heart of the city and hopefully will soon be settled.
It is awesome to be paid to work in a field that I love and I must say my office environment is enviable and co-workers have all been quite welcoming and kind to me. This afternoon I took a four hour tour of the airport and got some great pictures that I will post in the coming days. Unfortunately, I left my digital camera cable in Southern California, or else I’d have the pictures up tonight. I am going to see if I can find a cable tomorrow.
I’m sure you’ve noticed my blogging has slowed down the last couple weeks, but I hope to be back to full-swing by the end of the next week. There is so much material on the back burner and as soon as things calm down a bit, I think you’ll all like the material I have planned, including a detailed trip report of my journey to Southeast Asia and China.
But for now, enjoy the rest of the UPGRD network and I’ll be checking in again soon.
I am so bloody jealous of you, Matthew. Congrats again on the gig!
congratulations!
I did an oversea’s assignment (2 years) early in my career and it has done wonders for my career ever since.
Will you switch LH Miles & More or stick with M+?
@UA_Flyer: I am going to stick with UA, since I plan to return to the US in 2012. Requalification for 1K is going to be a challenge…
Good stuff, Matthew. Can you share any details on what type of work you’ll be doing for *A or is it super secret?
