Imagine you walk into your hotel room and find a man sleeping in your bed…let’s call him Goldilocks. Just another day at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino In Las Vegas?
Goldilocks Invades Excalibur Hotel In Las Vegas
Back when MGM hotels, including Excalibur, were a World of Hyatt partner, you could simply check-in on the app and rack up night credits for as little as $20/night. MGM got wise to that in the waning months of the partnership (there’s no ancillary spending from guests who do now show up) and no longer allowed you to check-in on the app: you had to check-in in person.
That led to some trips to Las Vegas for me…and some stays at the Excalibur. While I did not appreciate the weed stench that permeates this property, it is certainly not bad for the price paid and my son loved it and wants to return…
But a group of women celebrating a birthday in Las Vegas are probably not going to want to return after coming back to their room and finding “Goldilocks” asleep in their bed.

Now this man did not have golden locks, but he did somehow navigate through the locks and into the room, falling fast asleep (hilariously, if you watch the video above, the women appear to fail in rousing him from his deep slumber). At least he had his pants on…
Was it this man’s fault? Well, that’s a good question. Presumably, a clerk at the front desk issued him a room key and failed to notice the room had already been assigned to someone else. But it also seems to me that the man should have noticed the bags in the room when he arrived…unless these women had no bags at all.
Whoever is at fault, this sort of thing can happen at nicer hotels too. While I do not generally make a habit of knocking before entering my own room, perhaps that is not so unwise… especially in massive hotels in Las Vegas?

My guess was that he was drunk, lost his key card. At the front desk he said the wrong room number, clerk didn’t verify the info of the guest and just blindly handed him a room key for the room number he stated. Just a guess though. Thankfully he was just passed out on the bed and wasn’t there to do any harm. Probably $#@% himself when he wakes up.
Perhaps Las Vegas is Junk ? Ya think ?
While the Hyatt loophole Matt mentioned is closed, Vegas hotels are being booked for no show stays by people looking for AA Loyalty Points. 30-50x spend is offered on most weeknights through the portal and since the resort fee isn’t charged until check in, it’s a non factor.
The argument can be made buying status is a waste of money but it’s happening and there are many doing it when you read the AA groups.
Do tell more, which hotels are best for this strategy?
Or the entire thing was staged…these days finding truth amidst the endless fiction is not easy.
Totally staged. It’s like the beginning of a bad porno. Let me guess what happens next.
If Goldilocks is sleeping in your room, probably it’s a bad idea to wake him up without security. Stranger Danger.
Exactly. And why it was staged. I don’t imagine any woman walking in and seeing that and not going to get security first.
This is an entertaining piece. Thank you for sharing.
That said, you really got to do a spell check.
habbi instead of habit?
spendong instead of spending?
pirce instead of price?
Presumaly instead of presumably?
You must be new around here. I don’t point out spelling errors anymore, unless it’s funny or factually wrong. Enjoy your stay!
Haha. Not new. I read a lot, and mostly ignore issues such as these. Haven’t pointed them out for awhile. But this time there were just too many, and since it had been awhile since I said anything, I wanted to try to do so politely.
All errors fixed. Thanks Jason! Not sure what happened here.
Sometimes things just happen! Fun story.
Fun video, but definitely staged.
How did she know he’s a Big Daddy? Only if she peeked under the bonnet…
