The Hong Kong Airlines Club Autus Lounge offers beautiful lounge space and several nice amenities in HKG’s Midfield Terminal.
I had a chance to check out this lounge twice. Both visits were comfortable: the lounge was never too full to feel crowded. My first visit was from about 3-4PM on a Friday and my second from 10-11AM on a Sunday. The lounge is open daily from 6AM to midnight.
Hong Kong Airlines Club Autus Lounge Seating
It’s not that the chairs or couches were particularly comfortable. If anything, I would have preferred higher tables. But the bright colors and natural light made the lounge feel much more inviting, and in that sense, comfortable.
Toward the back of the lounge you will find a single massaging chair. If you want to use it, you’ll need to request access at the front desk (or just step over the rope…).
Hong Kong Airlines Club Autus Lounge Sleeping
If you are tired, there is a sleeping room with five beds. Blankets are available upon request. After my short 4AM departure from Bangkok, I tried to take a little nap here, but there was too much foot traffic.
Hong Kong Airlines Club Autus Lounge Food + Drink
A large buffet offers both western and eastern food, and frankly you’ll want to avoid the western food. I actually did not eat any food at all, but my colleague tried some of the pasta alla carbonara and spit it out in disgust. He is Italian, but that’s probably a good a sign as any to stick to the Chinese food, including some made-to-order soup and noodles dishes. When I returned for breakfast, there was also western and eastern breakfast items.
I ordered a mai tai from the bar…why not? It was good. There’s a small menu of cocktails at the bar, but just tell the bartender what you want. Coffee and soft drinks are also available.
Hong Kong Airlines Club Autus Lounge Business Center
Wi-Fi works quickly and is available in all parts of the lounge. A couple stationary computers and a printer is available.

You’ll enjoy tarmac and apron views from the lounge windows.
Hong Kong Airlines Club Business Class Lounge Restrooms and Showers
After arriving from Bangkok I took a shower. Thankfully, I had no wait (after completing my shower, which didn’t take long, I overhead a shower attendant tell another passengers the wait was about an hour) The showers are well-appointed and the suites include a toilet and suite.
CONCLUSION
The architecture and design of this lounge is outstanding. Hong Kong Airlines did an excellent job with its new lounge. Just stay away from the pasta alla carbonara…
We also had the reccent pleasure of enjoying this lounge while waiting for our fight to Vancouver. We were there from around 10 AM to 11:30. There was plenty of secluded sitting areas with comfortable chairs. A mixed Western and Asian selection of hot and cold foods. A nice lounge in comparison to the one at YVR.
Wow…I’m impressed. Did not think they would have such a nice lounge. I was expecting something much more simple. So why can’t Southwest Airlines have lounges like this? Oops…sorry for asking. What an idiotic question for me to ask.
Any other lounges in the midfield terminal? Will probably never fly out of there (always out of the main building) so curious.
No other lounges.
