Hotel Levent in Istanbul Now a Hyatt Centric Property

Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul 01

The mysterious Hotel Levent in Istanbul is now a Hyatt Centric Property.

The property made headlines earlier this year when it debuted as a Category 7 property yet had room rates of under $100/night. It did not take long for for the hotel to move down to a Category 3 property. Originally a “Hyatt affiliated hotel” the hotel now bears the Hyatt Centric brand and becomes the first Hyatt Centric in Europe.

Since I’ve stayed at both the Park Hyatt and Hyatt Regency before, I chose this hotel for an upcoming trip to Istanbul–

Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul welcomes you in the heart of one of the world’s most diverse and vibrant cities. This luxury lifestyle hotel is located in the lively and modern Levent neighborhood with residential avenues, skyscrapers and business headquarters. Just a few steps away from the hotel are a range of trendy and fashionable bars and restaurants and high-end shopping malls.

Looking at the map, the hotel certainly is not centrally located around the normal tourist attractions, but then again I have been to Istanbul so many times there is no need to go to the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cisterns, Hagia Sophia, or Grand Bazaar on this trip.

CONCLUSION

Talk about a transition! This hotel has gone from a Category 7 to Hyatt Affiliated Hotel to a Category 3 Hyatt Centric in three months. I’ll soon report back if it is worth staying at.

I agree that centrally located depends on your definition of center. I enjoy Istanbul and found this hotel to look interesting because it wasn’t cookie cutter and was in a different area than I usually stay. I’m looking forward to your review. Going to apply a DSU?

I don’t think so. It will be a two-day stay and we have to check out early, so it seems a waste. Will see if I receive a Globalist suite upgrade on a complimentary basis.
