Air New Zealand is celebrating its 75th birthday this year and true to form, reflects back on its jubilee year with a bit of humor, here a short video asserting nothing has changed over the last 75 years…except onboard smoking!
Air New Zealand started out as Trans Empire Air Lines in 1940 and adopted the Air New Zealand name in 1965. The carrier remains one of my favorite airlines — warm, friendly service and great food made my 13hr-flight from Hong Kong to London (which it has sadly since ceded) very bearable in economy class in 2008.
A special exhibit commemorating this anniversary has been open since December at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa in Wellington and will remain until 07 June 2015. More details here.

Happy Birthday Air New Zealand! Keep up the humor!
