I spent my final night in Kuala Lumpur at the Hyatt Centric City Centre, a reasonably-priced, centrally-located Hyatt hotel within easy walking distance of the Petronas Towers and Bukit Bintang.

If you’re a Hyatt loyalist on a budget, this hotel is for you.
Booking
As much as I would have loved an extra night at the Park Hyatt KL, that hotel wanted 700 USD/night while the Hyatt Centric was only 112/night. Since I had an early flight and would not even be able to enjoy breakfast, I decided not to splurge for an extra night at the Park Hyatt and moved to this Hyatt hotel.
Location
The hotel is in the city center (not far from the Grand Hyatt) and within walking distance of the popular Bukit Bintang neighborhood and many shopping malls and restaurants. Public transport is nearby, ridesharing is cheap, but you can most easily get around this neighborhood on foot.

Check-In
I was upgraded to a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the city skyline, including the Petronas Towers.
Guest Room
My room, 1714, was spacious, though the “open floor plan” with an open closet and sink all in the same room would not be my preferred choice.
Bath products were bulk-sized from “Bee Kind,” which is standard for Hyatt Centric hotels.
The room featured a Lavazza espresso machine with capsules. Water was bottled in-house, with filling stations located in the hallways.
The room had a nice terrace a couple chairs, a round table, and views of the Petronas Towers.
Pool
A rooftop pool offers excellent views of the KL skyline…it was quite crowded when I checked in (I did not use it).
Fitness Center
Next to the pool is a small gym with some LifeFitness equipment including ellipticals, bikes, treadmills, and a couple resistance machines.
This hotel has no sauna or steam room, so that alone would make me book either the Regency, Grand, or Park properties if I were sticking to Hyatt (but again, it’s a cost-benefit analysis).
Dining
This property offers two restaurants, two bars, plus room service.
Il Forno
The hotel has a very nice (and well-regarded) Italian restaurant called Il Forno (how original…) that I considered eating at (ultimately opting to eat elsewhere…). It is located on level 19 and also where breakfast is served each day starting at 6:30 am.
TanBuri
TanBuri, located on the ground floor, serves coffee and Tandori-inspired dishes. Food is served from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and drinks only from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm (including alcoholic beverage).
@21 Rooftop Bar
Alongside the pool is a rooftop bar, open from 4:30 pm to midnight during on Monday and Tuesday and starting at 11:00 am the rest of the week.
Room Service
Room service is available 24/7, with a much smaller overnight menu.
CONCLUSION
The Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur is a nice hotel that is centrally located, though the amenities are more limited than the other full-service Hyatts in the city. Of course you can find very cheap hotels in Kuala Lumpur, some of which are very nice if you do not care about hotel points or elite status. But if you are a Hyatt loyalist on budget, this is your place.
