My Hyatt Concierge Experience

One of the benefits of achieving Globalist status in the World of Hyatt loyalty program is a personal concierge, called My Hyatt Concierge. This person is intended to be a single point of contact for all reservation requests and other World of Hyatt questions.

A few days ago, One Mile at a Time wrote about his experience, My Hyatt Concierge (Or Lack Thereof). He noted that even though he qualified for Globalist status over a month ago, his Hyatt concierge had yet to reach out to him.

This despite a published promise from Hyatt that an assigned concierge would reach out within four weeks:

How will I know who My Hyatt Concierge is and how to reach My Hyatt Concierge?

Your My Hyatt Concierge representative will reach out within 4 weeks with their contact details and a brief introduction.

My Experience

I re-qualifed for Globalist status in mid-December. Less than three weeks later, on January 5, 2018, my Hyatt Concerige proactively reached out to me. Here’s her note to me, with only her personal information redacted:

Hello!

Welcome to My Hyatt Concierge, a benefit of your World of Hyatt membership. You’re one of our most valued members and I’m looking forward to helping make your travel planning at Hyatt seamless.

My name is [removed], and I’m your dedicated My Hyatt Concierge. I’ve worked at Hyatt for 12 years in customer service and our loyalty program. I am originally from St. Louis, MO and a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. I have worked in the hospitality industry my entire career, many years in hotels working with Conventions and Special Events.

I’m here to help make your travel planning easier by booking and customizing your Hyatt stays, keeping you informed about our latest promotions and giving you insider information that you won’t find anywhere else. Feel free to contact me directly for any of your Hyatt needs.

My contact information is as follows:
Email: [removed]
Phone: [removed]
Hours:   Monday – Friday
2:00 pm – 10:30 pm CST

When I am out of the office, you can reach out to [removed], he is a My Hyatt Concierge colleague who assists with my coverage. [Removed] has access to my email when I’m out of the office. However, if you should need immediate assistance, please feel free to either call: [removed] or e-mail:[removed], my colleagues on the My Hyatt Concierge Team will be happy to help in my absence.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Have a great day!

I would have preferred Hello Matthew (it seems she just sent out a mass email), but this is a great note and was proactive.

CONCLUSION

While others may have had a poor experience, I was pleased by how my Hyatt Concierge reached out to me. I like making reservations myself, but will certainly call her to apply suite upgrades or if there are any point crediting issues.

What has been your experience with the My Hyatt Concierge program?

Definitely interested in hearing how well she handles things for you. I have used the Twitter team for everything over the last year or so and they are incredible and always really prompt in their service so I would hope the concierge would do more!

Mine is excellent. I usually only have simple tasks like merging reservations, applying suite upgrades, asking for a specific room. She’s more competent than the twitter team and MUCH more responsive (it is possible!). Also, she’s happy to call properties for me regarding specific questions. Saves a ton of time.

I qualified in the middle of last year and have never heard from my “Concierge”. So, whatever.

Send her a box of chocolates.

I thought you were going to relate an actual experience. Opening a mass market email doesn’t really tell us much.

Looking forward to reading about something specific in the future.

Agreed. The title led me to believe that Matthew had an actual experience *using* the concierge. While the intro email was certainly fine, it doesn’t really say much about the concierge doing anything…

My Hyatt Conierage, is the absolute best. I have worked with her now for a year and will be workign with her in 2019, as well. Anything I have ever asked of her she has taken care of . Its a wonderful service, and another reason that I have shifted as many nights as possible to Hyatt.
