Review: Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf (Suite)

Matthew Klint Posted onJune 2, 2018November 14, 2023 7 Comments

In my review of the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf yesterday, I mentioned I received a suite upgrade on my final evening. A Regency Suite King will be the focus of this review.

For a detailed review of the hotel’s amenities and restaurants, click here.

I had to ask for this upgrade. There was no suite availability my first night, but I noticed a suite was available for the second night on Hyatt.com. I called downstairs, asked if I could move, and my request was happily obliged. The hotel won’t proactively offer Globalist guests an upgrade in the middle of the stay, but if you are interested, keep an eye out on availability. It never hurts to ask.

The 12th floor suite included a guest bathroom, living room with large desk, bedroom, and large bathroom. This was a corner room so the suite was L-shaped, with the great views from both the living room and bedroom, though not nearly as nice as my prior room.

Living room:

a room with a table and chairs

a room with a couch and a tv

a couch in a room

Guest bathroom:

a bathroom with a mirror and toilet

a sink in a bathroom

Bedroom:

a bed in a room

a bed with two lamps on the wall

a river with buildings and trees

a hallway with a mirror and a table

Bathroom:

a bathroom with a sink and a toilet

a bathroom with a black countertop and silver sinks

a bathtub in a bathroom

a bathroom with a toilet and a mirror

I liked the small extra touches like a Bose radio, orchids, and office supplies inside the desk blotter.

a lamp with a shade and flowers

a white orchids on a stem

a black tray with a pencil stapler and paper clips

A complimentary bottle of red wine:

a bottle of wine next to two wine glasses

The closet included a yoga mat:

a rack with swingers and a purple bag on it

a black cabinet with a combination lock

a closet with swingers and a shelf

The suite had special toiletries by moooi. I loved the way they look, but prefer the scent of the Pharmacopia amenities found in standard rooms.

a group of shower head on a counter

a round container with a round object on it

CONCLUSION

Having a suite is always nice, but I was alone and would not have used one of my Globalist Suite upgrades to secure this. That’s a compliment to the standard room, not an insult to the suite.

Was the pencil like the eraser also Faber-Castell? It looks similar to a Faber-Castell pencil I got when I stayed at the Kempinski in Munich.
