In the Heart of Bolivia…

Matthew Klint Posted onAugust 27, 2011 1 Comment

Sorry it has been a couple days…I´m sitting at a little internet cafe in Uyuni getting ready to travel to Argentina and the connection is worse than dial-up speed–I am going to keep it brief. The last few days have been relatively stressful, so it will be nice to enjoy some R&R in Mendoza and Santiago.

Last night I took a six hour bus ride from Potosi to Uyuni on a dirt road. Quite a bumpy ride, but it was amazing to look up and see the stars with no light pollution. Today I toured Salar de Uyuni which was also quite amazing to take in.

More in a day or so.

Rather than post a new quick blurb, let me give you an update here: 24 hours of non-stop bus travel plus another 20 coming up in an hour. All in economy class seats. Why do I do this to myself?

Business (cama) class on the bus was sold out, so I get steerage. Fun times! A full update and maybe a few pictures when I reach Mendoza tomorrow afternoon.
