KLM Sent Me A Rubber Duck!

I am the proud owner of dozens of Lufthansa rubber ducks but today I added a special duck to my collection…a duck from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

Move Over Lufthansa! My New Rubber Duck From KLM

You might recall that I recently flew to Frankfurt for a special-edition coronavirus duck, available exclusively at Lufthansa’s First Class Terminal. I shared my thoughts here as to why I made the special trip and don’t regret it at all…it was a great 24-hours in Germany.

My trip made the German news, prompting a lot of new visits to the blog, including from KLM.

A representative from KLM’s German office reached out to me after my trip and offered to send me KLM’s own special-edition rubber duck produced for its top clients in Germany.

A KLM duck? Yes, please!

I recently came home to find a large box from KLM on my doorstep. Opening it, I not only found a really cool duck, but other Air France-KLM swag including keychains, sunglasses, a notebook, a card game, and a nifty orange KLM scarf.

The KLM duck now sits proudly with my Lufthansa ducks in my office (I’ll give you a video tour sometime).

To KLM Germany: thanks for thinking me. I have a (small) collection of Delft Blue Houses as well from my trips on KLM, which also sits in my office, but the duck is really special and a great reminder of the power of marketing. Who would have thought that a rubber duck could be a symbol for a premium cabin airline experience?

Aid in destroying the climate for a rubber duck; get people to send you stuff.

The world is broken and I’m done with this blog.

Oh come now. I solicited nothing and had no idea this duck even existed.

Destroying the climate??? Seriously? So, we’re supposed to lock down forever, which will do little to change the climate anyway?

Yet, I bet you don’t give a thought to anything going on in the PRC, do you? Save the dramatics for someone who buys the hypocrisy.

This is insane. Next will be American coming up with one. I think a blindfolded version holding an AA meal tray would be apropos.

Fantastic!! I fly a lot on KLM since I usually fly Delta from the US to AMS and then connect to final destination on KLM. It is a great airline. FAs are extremely nice, service os top notch and AMS is a great hub.

I love flying KLM and think the onboard product is great, but AMS a great hub? I really do not like that airport.

I like it for train connections, as the train station is literally in the lobby of the airport and high speed trains to various cities go from there.

Any suggestions how a non blogger can get a KLM duck? Flying KLM business class again next month and looking forward to another Delft house but a duck would really take the cake!

How original! (Not). KLM should stick with their Delft Houses which are their signature.
