As a side note, I am still waiting for the 大躍進 (“great leap forward”) on United Airlines to catch up to Delta, American, and most other respectable U.S. carriers in offering wi-fi on the majority of its flights. Dear Leader Jeff Smisek has a new intro-video played before the safety demonstration onboard United flights in which he promises a tremendous rollout of wi-fi very soon.
In reality, it will take a bit longer but there is hope—
United Wi-Fi will be available on board select aircraft beginning in the fall of 2012. Several aircraft in our fleet will be equipped with United Wi-Fi by the end of 2012, and in 2013, we plan to equip approximately 25 aircraft with Wi-Fi each month.
Needless to say, this will be appreciated.
