Lufthansa 2021 Christmas Duck

Lufthansa has unveiled its 2021 Christmas duck…and I love it.

Lufthansa 2021 Christmas Duck

Unveiled by the official Twitter account of the Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, the new duck is currently available for first class Lufthansa passengers departing FRA:

I’ve got this bad habit now of wanting to fly to Frankfurt every time there is a new duck available. As much as I love Germany’s financial capital (and frankly, I prefer heading down to Mainz), that’s probably a bad use of my time as the holidays quickly approach.

But it won’t stop me from thinking about it…

Earlier this year I flew to Frankfurt just to obtain a special COVID-19 duck and have no regrets about that trip. But miles are a scarce resource and I’m not sure it makes sense. On the other hand, I’m not going to buy this on eBay…there’s not nearly as much fun or value in the ducks themselves (oh, I do like them) as from the value and memories of actually obtaining them. Every duck has a story.

So I guess I’m on the fence about whether to purse this one or not. By the way, from a report on FlyerTalk it seems Munich may have a different duck…now my mind is really whirring.

Seriously? Did you ask your hostess and not just at shower reception?

@matthew My hostess brought me the ducks on a silver tray. I didn’t know to ask for the Christmas one, as I had boarded my flight back to SFO when I read your post in-flight. When my husband was in the FCT last week, he received the Porsche rubber duck.

Do it! Life is too short to have regrets about something you want to do when you have the time and resources from your hard work and making the right decisions in life.

    Matthew,

You know your inner voice is saying “I command you to get that duck!”

LAX-FRA-MUC-LAX, a triangle route in F to maximize Christmas ducks

No first class operating from MUC right now. Would have to do something like LAX-FRA-MUC-FRA-LAX, though could do something like LAX-FRA-MUC-ZRH or something similar and have access during transit.

I believe that the F-lounge(s) in MUC are open, however the Christmas Duck I have not heard anything about.

Lounges are open, but with no F service, you have to be connecting to/from FRA or ZRH in F unless you are HON.

I’d say the treat of flying SWISS First is worthwhile.
